Well its official mommas dead :( but some how her only child is surviving! I took a clone of mom almost two weeks ago still no roots but she's alive even made it threw the same conditions that killed her mother!
I'm running the panel dimmed @50% or 200watts. I tested the light this morning its working fine, thank god! My girl looks like a twisted wilted underwatered freak, don't think she's coming back from this one. Going to turn the fans on high and leave her under the light today and see what happens.
I worked out if town the last two days and was unable to care for my girl. At some point I lost power and the ac didn't come back on and I just came home to plant with extreme heat stress and shes probably dead now but time will tell. Im pretty bummed about it. My thermometer reads low of 81 and...
Fashionably late to the party, here's mine..
12'' x 24" HSUSA sink
8 cxb3590's 3500k cd 72v
8 80degree lenses
2 meanwell's 185h c700
Semipassive @23 watts
More details on project overkill thread.
Ok, so far temps in the tent have dropped about 8 degrees since ditching the UFO. Temps reach mid 80's now. The cob sink is luke warm at best and I can put my finger on the lenses its a little warmer than the sink, but I couldn't be happier with the temps as its really not an issue now.
I like the remotely mounted driver idea, might use a stand off on mine to create a gap for air flow depends on how hot it gets.
Ill have to check the temps of lenses, I have a temp probe on my multimeter that I will use to test temps so far it's luke warm with semipassive cooling @23watts
Couple picture updates for the followers, got the chains and hangers finished. Soldered and heat shrinked all the connections. I decided not to use the universal power cord plug idea, the power cords for the drivers fit very nicely down in the fins of the heat sink so I soldered a 16 foot power...
Late post last night because it took forever to drill and tap the sink, Im blaming it on cheap drill bits. The thermal compound that I used was very thick didn't spread easily at all, I used about .4 .5 grams on each cob. Ran for a solid 10 minutes no issues yet. Still need to mount the drivers...
Well I got the heat sink today and started drilling and tapping. Got to the 12th hole and broke my tap because I didn't drill the hole deep enough. Lesson learned I guess. That lens holder will have to work with 3 screws. I'll pick up another tap tomorrow along with some thermal compound. Hoping...
