Mornin’ y’all. Thank gawd I don’t have my plants out yet, because the squirrels were at it already this morning digging in the pots.

I’ve used a variety of things as repellent, each with varying degrees of success. Any of y’all fighting the fight and winning? Haven’t used white vinegar around the area, but was told it can be effective. Happy Sunday!

not even my two dogs can deter squirrels. i end up just covering things with various cloths or fabrics to keep them out.

Two fiberglass t-posts from TSC: $6
30’ deer fence: $12
Knowing the chickens won’t get to the weed: priceless
Weed cloth is where the plants will go. I need to up-pot everything today because they’re all rootbound. 3G pots today and then 15G for final homes. You’re all cordially invited to the gender reveal party in a couple of weeks.

morning, friends. it's hotter than hades out here today; well, not really but it's way too hot for mid-may! my asshole chickens tore through some shade cloth and absolutely MURDERED the beautiful cabbages in that row. thankfully i have more in a raised bed. yesterday's market was a bit of a bust but c'est la vie.
now i'm off to look up some coq au vin recipes...
The longer you wait the less tender they are....

I hate chickens

The doves are back. I've pulled down 2 nests this morning and squirted them with the hose. And yet I can see them flying around looking for more twigs. Do not use these things, evidently they are perfect for building a nest.

My wife heard an owl the other night. I found a bunch of feathers from a young dove. The two larger doves that like my arborvities are still around.

It might not work. I had chickens......if they want to get in they will. Then get stuck in there and fuck everything up......and then need to be helped out of there.

#assholechickens

I've shot a bunch (its the weekend....LG doesn't post....last time I said that, I don't think she talked to me for two weeks  ) But there's so many.
I’d shoot them with my handgun but I live in the city. I bought a little air rifle a few years ago and thought about using that too but realistically those pellets won’t kill a groundhog unless I’m a sharp shooter to get them between the eyes.

Get a wrist rocket. You can put a marble through 3/4 plywood with one of those bad boys.

What's going on everyone, sorry I've been super busy out in the yard. Every time i start work on my garden, I find something else to do. Today I get to turn on and test the sprinklers, and put down some grub killer. Still need to make a thingy for my wife's rose garden. I have the wood floating in the pool I need to open. After I finish building my raised bed while I rip up some more grass to make way fir our guinea pig's little cucumber and orchard grass outdoor fun house adventure experience.

Hope everyone is well, I made too many beans again....
