How to cleanly connect lots of strips to the driver?

Parallel, sorry should have put that in the title and first post.

How to cleanly connect lots of strips to the driver?

I've got 18 strips all at 48V to run those in series would be some serious voltage? I could break them down into a series of series...lol. My last light was in series but topped out at 175V. It was so easy, I asked about the best way to build lights and the answer came back with a resounding...

How to cleanly connect lots of strips to the driver?

So, when you have a lot of strips to connect back to the driver what's the best approach for this? Instead of a big ass wad of wire with wire nuts how about a termination block then from the block to the driver. Anybody have any examples of a clean and safe install?

    Cob vs Strips

A lot of people use heat sinks with strips but a lot don't either when they run them at or lower than <50% total power.

    Cob vs Strips

I've made my own strip light before with bridgelux. I'm curious though what's the deal with cobs, I used to be interested in them until I found out how easy strips were but seems like folks still build cobs. What's the pros and cons between the two, how do they compare for those that have had both?

What led strips to consider in 2024?

"Study post #72, a 1 volt increase nearly doubles the current" It sounded to me you we're describing a runaway, which is why I asked for an expanded explanation. Anyways, thanks for your input!

What led strips to consider in 2024?

In any event anybody got a resource for some cheap < $20 decent strips 2700k - 3500k running @48V 22 inches in length other than aliexpress?

What led strips to consider in 2024?

That's the exact driver I stated I was going to use above..the AB version that caps the voltage and current which is why I still don't see a thermal runaway from a slight variance in voltage. I'm still interested in seeing how much one pulls over the other just for curiosity. If that driver can...

Leaf tips curling down and brown

I thought the 1st post said 400W. Is it 400 or 600W? What brand, some of the 600W you get off of aliexpress might only be 300W. Anyways if it is 600W that might be a little much at full power and if you can't dim it you need to raise the light. I generally started my light at 24in (2ft) above my...

Leaf tips curling down and brown

How close are the led's and are you running full power? Second, what is the temp and humidity? The soil has nutes in it already right? Leds require running the room a little hotter than hps due to them not having IR. I personally found 80-85F worked well for me. I've not used this app yet...

What led strips to consider in 2024?

Seems like that can happen even if all strips are the same and one has some issue. In my scenario I'll have 16 strips at 48V and 8-10 at 46V so there's a buffer there. Everything is so dam expensive these days..Aluminum bar used to be cheap. I've never got a answer on this question in the past...

    Coco Coir chemical smell.

I bought some mother earth coco from Amazon and re-hydrated some of it for seedlings. I noticed on day one that it didn't smell like the coco I've used in the past but then again it's been a few years; it has a off weird smell...maybe almost like formaldehyde. Is this due to them washing it in...

What led strips to consider in 2024?

Right, the HLG driver I listed is CC and CV which is why I thought I'd be ok in the scenario we've been conversing about. Due to the following: A: Such a small gap between the two voltages B: A driver that limits the amount of requested current. Would I be correct in saying, with this driver...

What led strips to consider in 2024?

I understand now what's being said. With that..I'd wager to say the other strips would be heating up to and thus lowering voltage. With starting voltages being so close I don't see the samsungs being so hotter than the others that they get stuck in that loop and run away. But, I can see this...

What led strips to consider in 2024?

What I'm confused about is there was a mention that the samsung strips could have a run away event leading to a fire. Voltage is electrical pressure, I get that. I also understand that the lower voltage 46 vs 48 like the other strips means its resistance is slightly less and as a result will...
