Unless your dispensary is as big as Costco I dont see that many employees being on pay roll for one dispensary.. Payroll taxes alone would be super high.

Some people want to run their show like a costco.. Big Business
And if you are a wholesale producer, similar to costco, there is a lot of money going around.

More jobs for Arizonans

I would only assume these are not the only applicants with big dreams. Some people have multiple 20k Watts facilities up and running already, that is not a cheap operation, even when you only consider electricity costs.

Azdhs just announced recently that they will have someone checking all the books for all dispensaries to make sure they are run as non profits. I think this was in reaction to the mess they got in the applications. A lot of clubs who put in apps just showed their books and that did not fly so well with the state in terms of a projected business model. There is gonna be so much oversight dispensary directors won't be able to fart without the state knowing.

Surely that was taken into consideration if they are legit business people.
Harborside was hit with a 2mil tax bill fairly recently..
Have to pay the piper.
Always, but good luck allocating that kind of dough in a one lump sum payment, good luck on having the IRS approve your books to get you on that payment plan. Like I said your "players" will stick around. But like the title of your other thread there will be a lot of " 2 year growers" being backed by some rich investors and they will like you said " fail".

I think harborside skated by and was able to come up with the money as a lump sum. It was due to the city or whoever within 30-60 days as well, I believe. At least that instance will prepare the big dogs in AZ for their future IRS bills...lol

I feel bad for the investors who strike out with garbage/fake growers, there are tons all over, hens my other thread. That will be were the fail comes, you are right. Surprisingly many of the hopefuls only applied for a dispensary store front and not a cultivation facility. They will be at the mercy of the producers unless they set up a small/private grow to supply their store.. hint hint

It's tough to get 3 growers in the same room who agree on the most foundational growing knowledge. Can you imagine trying to assemble a cohesive cultivation facility team of 10-15 people? Nightmare.

"At least" five hundred dispensaries closed by DEA in Cali over the past 8 months.

DEA will let them open and operate for just enough time for some capital to accrue, and then go in, shut them down, clean them out, and keep the cash. The pickings will be a lot easier here in Arizona due to the scant number of dispensaries.
And there very easily pinpointed map locations. There will be no DEA running around municipalities looking for dispensaries aka waisting time. Will Humbles b**ch a$$ will give everyone up anyway.. Have you read about his fake facebook account? Sickening...
They could close all the shops in one swing. don't forget Romney may authorize more raids than the current administration. Google Romney medical marijuana patient wheelchair video....

The ONLY saving grace on Romney is that he has stated its not a Federal issue. As a businessman he just may have better use of those $s then chasing pot farmers. I also suspect he would not appreciate a lot of the DEAs historical and current tactics.

Sure, he says that now, because Bain isn't making its bucks off of enforcement and incarceration. Upon election, I expect his position would change quickly. The existing framework is far too lucrative to have it disassembled simply by executive fiat- even if that were possible. Presumably the only effective technique for that would be to re-schedule cannabis as Schedule IV- an endeavor that will be fought tooth and nail at all levels of government.

As a former governor, and businessman, and based on his history, he just seems a tad more State's Rights, which is where one of the first steps is.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think any are on our side. Even the ones grilling the DEA only doing it for their Tobacco Farmer or Sales Tax revenue protection.
