Do buds lose weight if they go beyond ripe?

I have 2 different strains one 8 weeks and the other is 10 weeks my buddy told me they start to lose weight at a certain point they lose weight if not harvested is this true cause they r in the same system and i want them both to finish off.

I have never heard of that. I think he may mean that the tricomes change and you loose some THC as it is convert to CBD. But, some grow it for that. It puts you to sleep to rest up.

Yea I think he's just talkin out of his ass like usual he definitely meant the weight but it didn't make sense to me either he likes spitting out facts that he "heard" or think he may have heard.

Doer is correct, as the THC degrades to CBc + CBD, you may wonder why you fall asleep when thinking you wanna riot ....then you use words like "Man" ...Groovy" and even the famous... "Far out Man" ....lol

You're right, I apologize (though I think the name calling and claims of ignorance to be unnecessary and unfounded)

Let me start over.

Hey there! I personally wouldn't attempt over ripening any strain as the deterioration messes wit the quality and quite frankly, will make the weed very, very ugly. I've been there. It's not fun.

So if you have a 8 week strain and a 10 week strain, I'd just cut one down earlier. I definitely understand the temptation to want to get every last bit and this is one of those rare situations where more light isn't better.

I don't think they will lose weight, but I think they will lose density and some serious bag appeal. Fox tailing is gross.

Yea I've had this 10 week strain for about 5 harvests in a perpetual dwc setup it's the last crop since it takes too long tryin to get the best out of it cause I always cut it 2 weeks early it's diesel by the way it got a pretty good smell but definitely can tell its premature gonna let it go 9 1/2 weeks and it's pushing our cycle back but I hope it's worth it

What do you think ignorant is? A name I called or something you claimed?

This is why you shouldn't always listen to people. BING or GOOGLE your questions. Get real answers, not stoner opinions.

Nothing you dick. I didn't claim anything in my first post, I just made a super snarky reply.

I don't care what you think. I was trying to apologize, but you can go climb a poll.

Well this is a nice Idea, however, it will confuse some, and isn't 100% true...
Tric's will tell you when to pull, as long as these first steps have been met, and seriously, many newbies handle their buds so much, that tea colored tric's are the damaged Tric's...

First- Plant will stop making white hairs... if you have any white hairs on any buds... it's too soon for that bud...
Second- Plants hairs will recede into bud, and bud will start to plump up...
Then after these two things happen....
THEN CHECK FOR Tric's....
Shoot for the largest % of Milky/White... 90% good...
Healthy Plant will make Clear colored Tric's until the day you harvest. so you can never get all milky... there will always be clear...
Amber/Tea colored Tric's... These are degraded... They have lost the THC, some or all of it... The amber Tric's do not get you high...
The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...The amber Tric's do not get you high...

OK... The amber Tric's do not get you high... and are cause by either excessive touching leaf... or burnt bud.... or a fully ripe ready to harvest plant....
As soon as you see amber/tea colored tops on the Tric's on a healthy plant then it's harvest time...

Good Luck!

I did not call you ignorant. You said I did. I didn't. You said that you were and bragged about like it was something good for RIU. And then you tried to burn me in your apology. But, had I said nothing you would not have ever apologized, dip.

So. Post Envy. You will get over it.

Just not true. No matter how many times you say, it is not true. Amber trics are not ruined, they most cetainly knock the snot out of you. And you will be quite high when you fall asleep. It another drug being synthesized. CBD. This a different medicine. that is highly valued for some purposes like Cancer. OK?

When you pick, determines the nature and quality of the high, not the strength. Strength is from the density of tricomes per gram dry. And that from plant health and strain.

So, it is almost a good set of guidelines, but, not after you began repeating that. :)

Handling - very good point. If I must squeeze it won't be on the cola and it will be the same lower bud, each time.
Always making new clear ones - weird at first, throws off the count

But, I must say, from there it is personal preference and local knowledge of your grow. I like a clear strong sativa during the day. For that I begin to look when 50% of the hairs are brown.

I then sample with a USB microscope and I don't want to see all cloudy. I like it when some are still beginning to get cloudy and there are almost no amber, at all yet. It is a process and not a lock-step for all tricomes, at the same time.

For evening stuff. I let a more Indica dominate get to 20% Amber. CBD is a good high, but it will put me to sleep in a few hours.

Hope this helps.

It occurs to me you mean the light burned tricomes.time.jpg

Yeah, if they are light burn and bleached like this leaf of WW I grew, I couldn't smoke it. And that is saying a lot. However, I was able to do a BHO and extract good oil. The flavor of those burned ones....Do not get you high. .Do not get you high. .Do not get you high. :)
