Adding Soil and question about SodaStream.

I've got two questions to ask;

This is my tallest baby at the moment and my first question is if I should add more soil so it's got more support as it grows, for more root growth and ect. Would it be best to add soil now or leave it be and watch it? Might there be any other things I could be missing since I am here already asking questions, perhaps anything wrong with my baby, any kind of tips for this stage of the grow and what not.

My second question is, I have a SodaStream machine, and was curious about water, if I use purified water and carbonate it as long as PH is at a acceptable level, would that be of any benefit to my soil or the root growth, would the CO2 influence any kind of benefit to the plant or would it be detrimental, or might nothing at all happen?

Any help is extremely appreciated and loved.
Many Thanks & Best Regards,

It won't hurt anything to put some more dirt around the stem for support. Don't pack it in too tight.
Okay, thanks for the input, I didn't want to add soil yet til I was told it wouldn't effect it too much, I'll just give it a little tap down.
And also thanks for the oxygen to CO2 info, just one more question, about when in the later growth do you think it would be acceptable to mist with the CO2?
Thank you for your time and responses.

It's hard to tell how big your pot is, 7-8 in., maybe? An 8" round tapered pot is real close, if not right at 1-1/2 gal (US). She'll be alright for the moment, but if that pot is a small as it appears, you'll likely need to transplant to a bigger pot within the next 2-4 weeks, depending on a few variables. At the very least- finish filling that one with soil. You can fill it all the way up to (or close to) the first set of fan leaves. She'll begin to grow roots from the trunk you buried. Thing you want to be watchful of is damping off, from keeping the soil too moist around the trunk, until she gets a little bigger.
Cute little bugger!

Many thanks to both of ya, I've got a fan in there but that's to circulate and exhaust the heat coming from the light, I'll look into getting a low powered one, for my two babies. And yeah it's about a half gallon, I'll be switching to 2-4 gallon shortly as mentioned, I filled in more soil and set it around it, so it's not too much of a burden on the plant. For the next week watering, would spraying every little bit on the soil during dark hours be sufficient or should I just water as normal just give it a bit less? Thanks for the compliment, I'm really trying to make this work to the best that I can. ^.^
This is how it's looking as of now.

I'd just water as normal, if your soil drains well and you have some air movement. Just don't want it to stay soggy around the stem. As for the fresh soil being dry after you put it in, it's not in contact with your roots, so shouldn't damage your plant before your next watering, but moistening it a little's not going to hurt it, either.

I wait for my soil to be pretty much completely dry before i water again, causes roots to expand in search for water and as the saying goes, "the bigger the roots, the bigger the fruit". Seems to work well for me but every setup/grow is different, which seems to be a huge reason for conflicting information and meaningless bickering on this site.

But if u just flick her a bit, not too hard till shes a lil bigger but give her some good flicks throughout the day and blow on her a bit and i guarantee that stalk thickens up a bit.

Agreed. Roots are most important!
When they're little like that, that's probably one of the biggest mistakes people make, over watering and or watering too often. Letting them dry out makes them dig deeper in search of water.

Not to mention damping off also, its such a common mistake that could be easily avoided, just wait till ur pot weighs next to nothing or ur leaves start to droop, then give her some water and shell take off, i water around the outside of my pot the first couple weeks so the roots just keep expanding for water.

Agree with Jussblaz3420.... if you add more water "around" the plant, than near the stem the roots will go searching for water and develop better. Now, I'm not saying don't water around the stem area..... just to be clear. Better/bigger roots = better/bigger plants... you know what bigger plants mean, right?

Also as mentioned, do not over water.....

IMO, I wouldn't have all those things in your container... just you girl, they like their spaces and soon that girl will be too big for those things anyway.....

Looking good so far... Good luck and keep us posted!

Cheers

Alright, I'll be watering every two days or as needed when the pot is light and when leaves droop is the optimal time to feed, correct or is that wrong? I heard when you feed it as the waters running out it wicks the nutes up a lot greater and faster, but thank you I will definitely be keeping that in mind.
Thank for for your reply.

Yeah I'll water it on the outer region from what he stated previously and you had stated so they go searching for water.
I only have the solar light on top of the soil for at night I can take sneak peaks and ensure everything is alright.
I'll definitely be keeping everyone updated with whats going on. :]

Definitely a bad idea to constantly disrupt them during their night cycle, when its lights off, u want ABSOLUTELY NO LIGHT getting into the grow area, especially when in flower it will cause some issues

Now I have removed it but when removing I noticed my bottom fan leaves are becomming a lighter green, should I add bone meal to the soil I gave the plant for nitrogen or leave it be and see if the tips yellow, I'd rather not leave it alone as I would prefer to remedy this as quickly as possible, I have supplied a picture of the plant in it's condition from 10 minutes before posting this, any help would be highly appreciated.

I would put about a teaspoon of blood meal around the top then water, it takes some time for blood meal to break down and for ur plant to take it up so i would do it next watering
