The site had a issue awhile back so photos are not working on older post. Hopefully the guy started it can repost them if he is still around.

I wouldnt use the 1.5 inch uniseals IMO. I used two inch and them were ever two small, the root will go inside them and slow the flow to the control bucket, and it causes your last bucket to be a lowere level then the rest. Aldo, get away of using tees if you can, one side can have more flow than the other after a root mass is formed, just go straight inline with the system use elbows and now tees and put the pump at the end back the your resevoir. I have my control bucket that has a float thatshooked up to a fifty five gallon res that's hooked up to an to system. These systems work great if you can make your hole saw hole perfectly circle ;)

yes, plus, the bigger the pipe, the more head pressure you will have on your pump, you will get more gph flowing through and I used 2" last time* not 1.5, using 3" now

Slower flow = less pull on roots. Add a few air stones per bucket to keep the roots semi-afloat. I think it'll work.

That defeats the purpose of building the system described by the op.

Undercurrent and RDWC are different bongsmilie Yes undercurrent is RDWC but RDWC isnt necessarily undercurrent. I was refering to a 1" PVC/flex tube RDWC with 5gal buckets. Not an undercurrent.

I just about finished my undercurrent system. Can't wait to grow In it! I used 4 8 gallon buckets(kitty litter bucket style) inside the tent and a 13 gallon res. 950 gph inline pump pulls from the undercurrent 2" pipes through a 3/4" tube dumping into the res. air stone in each bucket. There is no water level difference between buckets while running. I ran into this issue last trial with 1 1/2" uniseals.

So you think my 5gal buckets with a 10gal res and 1" uniseals is too small???
They're only too small for five pounders. I run 1" lines and I don't get much of a clogging issue. It's all in how you design the system.
