If you have to ask, you don't need to know. :)
Less talk more doer-ing.. do-er. Polish off sinks before these 'cockrings' arrive?
Edit: oh I see, water cooled.. cool!
Your supplier should stock holders (adaptors & reflectors)

Hey... i thought you weren't going anywhere near LED? It's been a while, maybe i misremembered.

Dayum! Impressive.

A note to any shippers: quick and reliable shipping is a HUGE plus, and often justifies slightly higher prices. People will love you for getting their stuff to them pronto. That's where your best reviews will happen, which will help get new customers sometimes.

lol.
Just when you think you are out...they pull you back in. :)

That was before these COBs where I can get 50w and 50% efficiency for $50.
(your milage may vary, not available in stores, trained professional on a closed course)

Done.

Supplies don't stock holders and adapters together for the bottom price, alas.

We can't find reflectors for these COBs without buying 50 or more. So, I'll just roll blunt cones out aluminum. It's all in here. It is a long thread with a lot fun side tracks. But, I posted all the plans and links as I went along.

lol.

Yeah those LED hawks are determined to illuminate the world, i reckon. :)

The number of cobs you've got there... lol. I think you'll have fine results. Using only a pair of 3070s @~1A, in relatively small space (not tiny, roughly 36"w x 20"d x 5ft h, 15g BAS mix (which is pretty much just the CC recipe with HQ ingredients and some minor adjustments)), i was certainly pleased. Just finished the last of it a few days ago (have had as much as i wanted for the last 4 months, which was great). I've got... maybe triple the power/luminance (and a supplemented spectrum) for next time, same space, new genes... feelin' a bit motivated now. Barring unforeseen circumstances, it's going up ASAP.

I'm interested to see what they do to improve the CXA line. If they haven't already, i expect it'll be soon.

CXB?

Doer, I did see your build, quickly loose interest in the banter. It can be fun sometimes for those involved, but it's tedious when you want to see whats going down with the topic.

Have you seen the other liquid cooled cab on here? (out of interest). It's not necessary or a problem for me, as I see it is for many growers (excess heat). I actually thought liquid 'cooling' would be a good plan for cold climes, to take the edge off cold nights at least.. the radiator/sink inside the cab, a large reservoir heated with temp controlled by diverted flow etc. Cold rather than excess heat, a downside or first world problem for LED (for a big part of the year in colder places).

Those are CXBs. It should be an OK thread now. As @churchhaze alluded, I have paid my admission. (hey, a pun....like confession) :)

Yeah there are pages that just should be deleted. I asked the mods to delete all BS even my stuff, and they did, for a bit, but I guess it got boring for them as well. :)

I am going from my experience with my 1000w HPS water light. And there seems to be a structural problem here on RIU. Most people seem to think in term of BEST, as a competition with other growers. They forget BEST means best for their plants in their unique room of their indoor grow. EVERY ROOM IS DIFFERENT. :)

So, it is not a competition except with myself, to improve my yield.

A cold grow room is not the best place for LED if you need the heat.

But, piping water around is the BEST way to transport heat. What you do with your heat is part of the efficiency equation.

Maybe I can heat exchange it into a talapia pond. I love fresh fish.

Thinking about the other way, most folks in Dallas, TX have some sort of home made swimming pool cooler. A backyard pool doesn't cool you down if it too is 100F. :)

I would think the CXA is be replaced this year by the CXB line. I could be wrong, they could continue to offer 2 price points.

@heckler73

I dug out the packaging for the brazing kit. It is specific for Aluminum to copper or brass.Melts at 1070F. And it has only aluminum and silicon in the .062" wire. It comes with a flux to break the aluminum oxide layer.

Alpha Fry 53718

I pulled that apart this morning. I had melted some of the 6063-T5 plate. That's why it tipped into the hole.

^this. I feel like there's a word for that, but i'm blanking on it... something about adapting most optimally to what is immutable (or just prohibitive), while minimizing compromise.
