DIY led grow

Good to hear about gogi, have five that have been germing for 48 hours and have 3 with taps out and ready to go
I was going to cross goji to the gsc but the gsc threw a few nanners. Goji has shown me more hybrid vigour than I've seen in a long time. Thick stems, fast growth, really hardy strain. Seems a lot different than heaven mountain which grew more viney and slowly for me..
Love growing this plant. Have 2 runs with my Strawberry Creamcheese pheno and it's finished green and healthy both times. And when you talk about vigour Poz I'll tell ya 2 little stories. Last time I grew it I totally screwed up my transplant when I went from a 3 gallon bag to a 10 gallon tub and tried to recycle the bag and ripped most of the roots that grew off of the rootball. Thought it was as good as dead. Was floppy and started yellowing and then like 8 or 9 days later just exploded with growth. Healthy as it ever was. The other story is right now I'm revegging that same plant and that little lady is about 10 to 12 days out of flowering and it's already starting to veg. I've been revegging plants for years now and I've never seen a plant go back to veg that fast, not even my Black Widow revegged that fast and those are some great genetics too. I'm going on a Mr. Nice kick right now but after that it's a trip to Bodhiland and probably grab a fresh pack of Goji.

My only problem is that she seems to spit a few seeds but I guess survivors do things like that :). Hope you don't mind me posting a photo Poz.

Good luck with the grow guys!

Take your time , .......heard it at work(xpn) the other day, catchy:wink:
You'll want to know that when that song started playing my speakers were up REAL LOUD from just finishing watching a movie and when I pressed play that "WHOIZDAT" at the beginning of the song scared the living Christ out of me. Good song but now I'm Christless! Happy? LOL

Right now?! Lol let's be honest, you've been working on a CMxBW cross for a good decade now. ;)

Jealous of your pheno dude, hoping my beans gimme a keeper. Definitely a longgg list of bodhi gear I'd love to stock up on. Definitely hard to pass up especially when they have gogi in stock.

Not one of his beans sounds bad, and watching that bgear thread I really like how he seems to do business and all seem relatively stable

It was either gogi or ssdd i ended up getting two packs of....ssdd has been tested at 28%, I can only imagine how fucking wild a good gogi could be.

Hope you're doing well brother!

Edit: 25% sorry, it's 28 thc-acid

alright, back to why i post here. leds, how they work for me (or not), bud shots, strain review, yada yada..

So of every grow I've done in recent history this was the biggest flop yet. Never adjusted to the light intensity and health bogged the whole way. It WAS meant to be a simple strain selection and parts durability thing anyway.

Some good news. The reflectors and mixing lens handle it no problem so far. Leds working fine at max draw...check. Goji smells fruity on one and og on the other...both really nice terps. It'll have to come down to a smoke test on those.

fruity goji

og goji

Did manage to grow a bud 4' + from the light..lol. Even that took a little light abuse being in the center

IMG_0951.jpg

All the larger leaves slowly died, are dying, the smaller leaves look like their supposed to for the most part, darker green..

So in summary. I'll never run this setup again. Not 130w to each led with reflectors. I may try once more with no reflectors just to be more sure on what they can do with the full wide angle.

Do you like those diffuser lens. even thou they have 5 to 10% losses. Quoting from your 200w thread. You never told me the good and the bad.

Been playing with them a little... Heatsink temp went up with the diffusers on
Will get more into it later. Some good.. Some bad with them
Whats wrong with 130w to each led with reflectors. Too much light? What was the canopy distance from light.
3590s at1.75a, 72v version. What bin was it

Are the losses that high? Haven't checked...just thought i'd try them since they are made for them. I still don't know much about them. Without a par meter I can't really tell what it does to light distribution. Going to hold back on any comments on those things

Whats wrong with 130w? bin? 3500k cd

For me, each power increase requires a certain distance. I can't even get to that distance in my 7' area. I've run more power, more light, but coming from one source it throws down farther. Without a par meter I'm pretty stuck in a lot of situations. One day...in the meantime I just grow and see what works. I can easily max out a area of canopy with a 50w COB. With 80w, my party cup run, it did okay but it was a lot easier to hurt the plants. Now with the 130w its resembling my single 50w run in my microcab. Its frying a lot of the growth in a good sized tent.

Probably be tits in a warehouse grow. Or, a cheap as possible build with a couple feet between canopy and light. But, still giving up the alternative of just keeping the lights closer and a more efficient current.

Maybe they will work great with no reflectors, probably try that next. The center beam is pretty intense so it may still be a problem in a tent grow.

I got as much questions as anyone...

For me 50w - 80w is a good range for flowering larger plants.

different strokes for different folks I guess..

When I build a light for a friend it will be with 50w max emitters because I trust it will grow him healthy plants.

Bonjour
Anyone tried cxb 3590@2100mA??? (They are about 50%@2100mA!) 75w I guess!
Have a great day ★
75w is on the upper end of what I like..for now at least..

Couple bud shots. Not as nice a grow as I'd have liked but productive still.

Goji looks good, will be keeping one for sure. Looks like quite a few seeds for the future too. At least one branch full from each

gluttony still going, strain grew on me a bit. Threw out the immortal og early. Didn't look like a good pheno

So what light to run next? any requests? I don't really give a shirt.

4k and ample 660, 730, 365..
3500k smidge 660 and 730..
3k 5k 660 730...
straight 4k..
straight 3k...

can't decide and I only feel like running 1 light..

I choose option 3:
3k, 5k at 2:1 ratio, + 730

Bonjour
Too many choices...but who lead to good yields...which one is the best!???
To be honest I have one goal since I started indoor in 2000...reach the gpw in soil...but I never went farther than 0.85gpw since!!
So now my new goal will be 2gpw in soil...but I am more than happy to be able to pull more than gpw and with organic amendments + blumat I do not have to do much during the grow...just
bend it and prepare it for bloom...and prepare soil is always a pleasure for me.
Have a great day ★

alright we have a tie at 1 vote each. lol...white power!

@mc130p That worked out well, its the one I was thinking of.

@PurpleBuz I'll do the 4k light soon. Its been too long since i"ve run that one. The Arcadia UVB tubes I run have quite a bit of UVA in them. They are a mainstay for now, at least until I can get a white spectrum with UV. I don't want to have to laser in a bunch of monos. Girls need their suntan somehow

@littlejacob. Not enough choices...lol. The best one is yet to be determined. All the indoor light has to do is give me a similar or better flower than outdoor. Pretty simple. Until then I am just testing indoor. I try to maintain 1g/w. Relatively easy with cobs, still easy to f@ck that up though. Yield is low on my list of qualities, not completely off of course.

Yield is a tough one for me. As a personals grower I don't need much. But naturally the little (or a lot) I smoke I want to be the best. So if I have a blue dream I grew inside, and one outside, they are different believe it or not. You smell the haze in blue dream haze. It doesn't come out completely indoors.

If I was a caregiver than yield would become paramount. Or would it? I'd probably get a greenhouse and do both at that point...

Why the f@ck do I grow indoors again!?

Oh yah, to have fun. And further and maintain genetics a little easier. Maybe push the indoor spectrum a bit..

Be a few weeks but I have a nice gsc to run solo under the 3k 5k mix. Need to refill that jar since the last got completely seeded.

till later, peace
