It's funny how long ive been off RIU start a new account and thread talking up Fluence Bio. And now...... It's turned into a Cxb3590 diy thread. Glad I came back! I'm finding some great material to make a cutting edge light that's aesthetically pleasing to the eye. You led guys are on top of shit. Thanks
So you know, you weren't wrong to talk up Flience if they impressed you. After all you need to get others opinions. Thing is, here, on RIU, if you're not buying a Cree Cxb off a DIY guy here who manufactured their own or can't DIY then you're so far off from doing the right thing. I disagree. Do to the thousands lost in valuable flower time = $. Not hating c, I wish I had the time but to me flowering big rooms ASAP is more important than the down time of learning ect... So, good for some but not all. That leaves guys like me to depend on good commercial panels. And IMHO who cares how much they cost to an extent seeing how each bigger light pays for itself x2 + over. Example: 1, 660watt- quality light like the SpyderXPlus with an optimal grow will yield a good grower 2 lbs. = $5000, the light only cost $1500. To me, I'm not that frugal to make my own, over getting good commercial plug n play. To me I'm far exceeding the money a DIY is saving when I can just get to growing. That is unless you already know how. Those guys I envy as I'd like nothing more but to build my own. Just not while I'm trying to maxamize LBS. now. If Want a new room now, better off buying good commercial then starting the learning process now. IMO. To each his own.

Agreed, if you have to time and understand the build. Believe if you grasp it one could build a better more efficient light with the cxb3590's. Time is money though :)

Learning is always good...it could teach little things...but one little thing plus another little thing plus etc...you know big things at the end...and it can improve your grow...
If I wasn't came here I would surely grow with a mars panel or some kind of shit like that...!
And I wouldn't know about far red at light out to increase the yield...
And if you go watch green gene or Growmau5 vids on youtube you will see it is a child game if you have the good parts...it is really simple and it is a hairdresser who said that!!! (It is not what I usually do...it was the first time I built something! )
I insist because all the guy I helped make their own are more than grateful to me...I have a lots of friends now...lol!
But take care those who dare entering...humm...if you put a finger in diy it will like a drug after...lol...it will make you proud and happy!
And 200w of the best cxb3590 @1400mA in diy cost 350$!
How much is the same commercial panel?...550/650 $!??
No all the growers are commercial growers so money is a concern for some!...like me!

My spyder 1200 showed up when my lights were off and I was extremely geeked to put it together so I did it asap. All I can say is, that was a mistake. If you can, wait until you're in your grow area before you assemble it. I had the hardest time getting this big ass light into my room. And the new ones are bigger! 42"X42" correct?

Looks very similar to the spectrum of the citizen clu046 1818 80cri 4000k with some deep red tossed in. I like it, but how well does it penetrate a canopy?
I want this light just for scrogging. I'm having a hell of a time with my COB lights having to keep them 18". It's because of the optics on my Hydroponics Hut X5-500 really. The Amare SE-450 is great because the big bad-ass glass bubble optics come off allowing a great spread & closer growing. But I'd love to have the SpyderXPlus. Talked to them & almost got one but went with the SunCloak4416 instead for close growing. I love it. I believe they studied off of BML when making it. Still wanting the SpyderXPlus for scrogging. Who knows though. I bought all these lights to see which I'll be investing in & am running them all in one room, growing the same strain, cloned from the same branch. I love this stuff!!!!

Dont have a meter looks are deceiving. Considering the Gavita is right next to the Spydr but 2.5' up and the Spydr is about 12" the penetration looks similar. This grow may get a time lapse GoPro video. Mixed lighting (1) Spydrxplus a (1) Gavita and (4) traditional hps's. I'd take more pics but this is my other spot I don't live in. Post some more another day.
