New growth is yellow? trying to figure this out..

hello my first post to this website..

before i say anything i would like to say that i am from venezuela. and normally the products usually found in the US cannot be found here at all. so please keep that in mind when trying to tell me what name-products to buy, its not found here, and we dont make dollars to buy em overseas. so i improvise with whatever else i can find. such as baking powder for pH up and vinegar for pH down. epsom salts.. nitrogen pills that are easily-soluble, with an 8-1-1 ratio. and another npk product with a 1-3-2 ratio, and liquid worm castings.

anyway onto the problem..

i have a nice lil cannabis plant that im growing hydroponically. its 22 days old since its sprouted. im giving it 18/6 lights. i have 4 30 watt cfls right now, about another week im gonna hook up my 400w mh bulb for it. the pH of the water stays at a constant 6.0. room temperature stays between 68-80 degrees throughout the day because of the tropical country. i have a fan that moves the air around and gives it a gentle little breeze. i feed the plant 1/4 strength nutes. this monday i will change the water and bump it up to 1/2 strength to see how it reacts. i have 3 small air pumps, all 3 together giving off 8 liters/minute of oxygen. not sure if thats enough but as of now i havent seen any problems with the roots.

my problem is that the new growth has been a lime green/yellow this past week and i cant seem to figure out exactly what the problem is.. its still growing but not as efficient as before. im not sure if i am leaving out any other info that would be helpful. so please, if in doubt ask and i will respond as quick as possible with more information.

Oh! and in the pics you will see the first true leaves' tips burned. that happened on day 8 and i transplanted to my 5 gallon bucket and since then it has stopped dying and has grown nicely since, till now, that im seeing light-colored growth.

and remember im not in the US. i improvise with other products that could be alternatives to what you guys use.

and also my plant stays nice and perky too. the leaves usually stay at a 45 degree angle, which seems to me that it looks happy. but im not happy with the light colored growth, i feel like i am missing some kind of nutrient for it..

When the damage starts in the bottom and moves up it is usually a Macro nute issue

When it starts at the top and moves down it is usually a Micro nute issue

Yours look to be wanting Iron which is one of the Micro nutes

i thought it would be an iron deficiency.. but i wasnt 100% on it.. what can i do? or what could i give it?

the burns happened over two weeks ago.. i can tell you that it has nothing to do with whats going on with the new growth. it has stayed that way since and my plant has recovered nicely since then. im thinkin its some kind of deficiency..

I used 2 23ws for one plant in early to mid veg. 4 30ws.. 120 x 4 is 480. You have 480 incandescent watts or 120 CFL watts 2 inches from your plant. It's light burn.

Raise it 6-8 inches from it. That'll give it time to recover and stretch toward it. A little stretch is ok. By the time it does, it'll be better.

What type of water is it? How far are your CFLs from your plant? And have you used any cal/mag? I am not 100% sold on the light burn I dont know. I have a big T5 unit, I always kept it 2 inches away no issues. In early stage kept it about 7 and moved down slowly to rest at 2 inches.
How many watts are your T5? Are their watts condensed to a small area? No. It's light burn.

If you are using distilled water or Reverse Osmosis etc you will be starving your plant of the Micros as @RM3 suggested. Distilled and RO water contain no Micro nutrients like Calcium,Magnesium and Iron. It will do exactly what it is doing now if this were the case, but I dont know what kind of water your using?
