The Official Canna Coco & Nutrients Thread

hey fellow coco growers just to introduce myself this is my first real grow alone by myself and I decided to go coco I'm running a 400hps in a ~4x4 tent 2 plants from seed (super iced grapefruit) and running the full canna coco line (Canna coco,a,b,rizo,cannazyme,pk13/14,boost,terpanator,and e j calmag using rodi) I have to say I'm super impressed with the canna line I'm currently in week 5 of flower running about 1200ppm 2.2-2.4ec with a rage of ph 5.7-6.2 throughout the grow I just started to add pk13/14 my question comes in is how long should I run it for? the plants are healthy af with ~35 top/colas(scrog method first attempt don't knock) I have been following the canna schedule as a rough guide and it seems to be about a week later than schedule also with the nutrient schedule say I use pk13/14 for ~ 2-3 weeks should I keep up with the suggested amount of A and B or slightly lowered the dose till I stop using pk and am on my last week before flush again any input is great since this is my first one on my own but here's some pics

Are those recent pics? What week are you at? Those plants look nice, but they've got a long way to go.
yea thoes pics were taken yesterday.i'm on week 5 of flower. Thanks I'm pretty happy so far for on my own fist time first scrog too but going by the canna schedule I have about 3-4 more weeks till flush does that sound about right?I feed ~3/4 of a gallon for each plant feeding once a day until I get about 30% run off no burns no discoloration of stems or leaves throughout the whole grow

I like canna but the sched calls for the PK about 2 weeks late for indica doms. The sched also says use pk for 1 week only... I would do 2 #IMO

damn I didn't know that it is an indica dominate but it seems to be about a week behind on the schedule from canna

They look good bro, don't sweat it. Bump them then you start to back off nutes to like 1.6 then down to 0.4 if I recall correctly.

I don't pay any attention at all to Canna's schedule; it's meaningless. Every strain has different finishing times, and Canna has no way to know what your strain needs and when it needs it. You can ruin your whole run really easy by relying on Canna's schedule instead of reading your plants. You have to learn to hear what your plants are telling you; read the leaves, the pistils... they'll you what they need and when they need it.

I also use a lot less than their feed schedule calls for, too. I usually run about 1/3 to 1/2 strength, sometimes as low as 1/4. I may bump it a bit from time to time if they look like they need a little more, but less is usually more with coco.

And I don't really do a formal, official flush. I back the nutes down to 1/4 strength when they look like they're in the home stretch, and the last day or two I just give them water. The end users of my product are extremely discriminating people, and whenever i get a chance to meet them and ask about it, they have nothing but good things to say.

I don't use their charts for a exact formula I use it as a guideline I feed A little over half of the recommended and my leaves were turning light green so I bumped it up to three quarters just over maybe a little and they darkened up and I could tell a difference that they were happier here's a pic from just now two of the largest colas as I could get pictures of

Sorry; didn't mean to condescend. Oh yeah - those are definitely filling out nicely. Week 5? You are certainly on the right track.
cool man I appreciate it I mean it is my first grow on my own I've helped out with friends but never straight up by myself from seed to harvest and thanks I'm pretty sure I'm on the right track just gonna keep in touch with you guys throughout the weeks in case anything changes
thanks

Yup, you'll still need it.
I dont know about that one bro. I would say it depends on tje strain and how much calcium magnesium is in your starting base water. Canna coco nutrient has a SHITLOAD of calcium and magnesium much already in its 2 part base nutrient.

I use an electrical conductivity/total dissolved solids meter to determine the strength of my nutrient solution....and its very strain dependent. Each group of strains that generally like the same feed strengths get thier own tank/pump/ drip manifold. All tanks and pumps hooked to a master timer

I do I stated in my first post I am about 12-1300 ppm and 2.2-2.4 ec right now and with a ph range of 5.6-6.2 throughout the whole grow ik that canna has c and m in it but I am using rodi as stated too I'm using a low dose of calmag (6 ml to gallon) and have not seen any deficiencies throughout the whole time same with the clones I have going using canna start at half strength and 1ml calmag in a 1/2 gallon

Wow! That's amazing that you're pumping Canna nutes so high and still need any calmag. I only run it at about 1/3 to 1/2 strength, and I rarely use calmag - maybe every week or two to give it a little boost now and then. I bought a pint bottle a year ago, and it's only half gone. Not saying there's anything wrong with it; I'm just surprised is all.

Me too. With Canna coco nutes and my 110 ppm tap water I usually stay in the 650 to 850 ppm (500 scale) sweet spot with zero calmag additive. Some strains like it silly and i pump them tanks to 900 to 950 at peak flower. Bit thats rare. Hardly ever go above 1000 ppm.

And my strains are like perfect healthy to my eyes. Leaves...stems...buds...all really nice. Occasionally i will take in a strain that gets magnesium problem in mid flower but its very rare. And corrected just upping the feed strength by 50 to 100 ppm. With cannabis in general..ive found it likes calcium and phosphorus at the beginning. Then at mid and peak flower the plant overall loves magnesium and potassium sulphate. With overall nitrogen levels constant...MAYBE tapered down slightly during mid flower but not much. That whole "too much nitrogen" in flower thing is largely a bad dry and cure method. I dont mean blasting nitrogen like in veg though. These are of course other nutrient brands especially 3 part or seperated ones where you can really tailor the specific minerals at stage of crop.

Yeah, when I first started with Canna, I was blasting the poor babies with around 1200 PPM for a while there. The plants were growing so fast I thought I was having some sort of Jack and The Beanstalk nightmare. Within days, I saw clear signs of nute burn, and backed way off. I typically run about 500 to 600 PPM tops now, but that goes up a bit in bloom when I crank the PK booster.

Not to sound like I'm bragging, but I consistently pull 2.5 a bulb. I can't ask for much better result. I'm a big believer in giving them everything they need, but nothing they don't need, and it's a lot easier to fix a deficiency than an overdose. If you watch your leaves, you'll know what they need and when they need it.

Hey, I'm with you on the nitrogen in bloom thing. I don't hammer 'em, but I give them enough to keep them green and healthy. The healthier the plant, the better the yield. Nature doesn't starve them for the last few weeks, so I don't either. The plant evolved to feed at a fairly constant rate throughout its lifecycle, so that's what I work with for the most part.
