God damn id like to sleep in that tent...

LED fanboy right here :)
I use hps in the winters to help heat up my basement. ive never gotten close to 1gpw with hps or fluorescent. with my diy cob rigs i yield 1gpw give or take a little. im not the best grower out there. i just try to follow CC/lumperdawgz recipes for soil and foliars. i reuse my soil and i pretty much water without nutrients. if i do use nutrients its like a handful or alfalfa pellets and some worm leachate. the soil is a blend of peat/perlite/rice hulls/worm castings/neem/kelp/rock dusts/oyster shell flour. so i guess i too use "my special soil"

All that being said i run 200w in a 3x3 tent and expect around 200grams. some people are pulling over a pound in a 3x3...

Ive just started a 4x7 room with 800w of xobs and 32 plants. im hoping for a pound and a half as its my first time growing in that room.

What are you hoping for from your 4x8? 2.5 or 3 pounds?
there wasnt enough room to sleep in that tent. it was hard enough getting in there to work. trimmed all that alone lol. good times

The goal is for 3 to 4 pounds at least from each table. They will be sea of green with almost no veg time to keep the canopy uniform and maximize the efficiency of the lighting. Each table Will be one strain only in order to keep things even as far as growth patterns as well.

i plan on hitting these with 1400-1800W of cxm22's @ 1 per sq/ft. that tent is gonna be lit the fuck up lol

thanks man. this one is turning into a nightmare. i vegged for two weeks which was way too long. i am working with limited headroom because of my table height and the room the hoods take up. this was a new strain from me. first clone run that i took from the original seed run so im still learning her. she stretches like mad. i may take the lid off my tent and hang the lights from the ceiling im just worried about odor control. i have lots of fans and filters and ozone but im still paranoid.

We might be in the same boat soon. i just gave my girls 2 weeks veg when i meant to only give them 1. however i am definitely not packing as many plants as you. i have only 32 in a 4x7...

You should be fine. I'm in the 80's if I remember correctly lol. My goal for a true SOG was 4 per sq/ft with almost no veg time but my moms weren't prepared for what I was asking of them :)

Haha i gotcha. yeah im into the idea of sog but i am doin this at a couple friends houses and they arent comfortable with large plant counts. i dont blame them really and im just grateful to be allowed to pursue this growing hobby. goodluck!

i just survived a titanic disaster. it could have been the end for this grow lol. the bottom of my table collapsed and fell through. luckily i had a spare res sitting under the table empty and it caught the falling board and saved it. that pond liner is STRONG AS FUCK! it saved my ass big time. i thought it tore but it just pulled out the fittings and leaked into the res. got lucky there. as far as bad luck goes, i have fantastic bad luck. things could have been much worse. been bracing the table section by section by getting underneath the table, lifting it into place with a car jack and screwing it together. i was arrogant thinking a million 2" brad nails would keep it all together. it does not pay to be lazy. learn from my mistakes. i shut the lights off a few hours early so i could silicone the fittings back in place without needing to water for the next 18 hours, giving it time to cure. my buddy drove over to help me out and gave me the idea about the car jack. he saved my ass big time.

im taking this opportunity to do a full res change out and start fresh. we are also cutting six inches off the legs tomorrow to help with head room. its gonna be a pain in the ass to do it but they are way too close to the light. if that isnt enough im going to open the ceiling of the tent and extend the tent to the ceiling of the room with panda film so i can raise my lights up another 18". busy day tomorrow

enough with the bad shit! lets see some progress shots!

Great looking grow @DesertHydro , once you get the cobs rolling it they take some different strokes nute and grow style wise. You wount have any problems with the shift to cobs, the plants will tell you what they want and how they want it... :)

i feel like i have been over feeding lately. gonna dial it back to the jacks 321 formula and see how they respond. ive been running it at about 1.5x strength and some of them dont appreciate it

heres a little update. been slowly toning down the nutes and im finally sitting at 1.3 ec that the jacks 321 calls for. everything looks great and they seem to be recovered from the light burn. theyre progressing nicely now. the veg tent is starting to blow up. the roots are making their way down into the rockwool croutons and they seem to be liking it. i got their foos down as well. they were getting burned up from my over zealous feeding regimen. all is well now and all the new growth is lush and green. you can see the curled up fringes in the picture indicating the overfeeding as well as the light burn.

Whats this jacks 321?

I just bought some of their 5-12-26 since my whole bag I have got all fucked up due to humidity and is unusable.

Excited to try it as it has a lot, more Mg in it than the 5-11-26 i was currently, using and apparently doesn require epsom salts

jacks 321 is using 3 parts jacks hydro by weight, 2 parts jacks cal nit by weight and 1 part epsom salts by weight per gallon. final ec comes out to 1.3 and is almost identical to lucas formula. i mix mine by ec since i dont keep track of how many gallons i make in a res. mix part one to .66 ec, part 2 to 1.1 and then add epsom salts until it hits 1.3.

Ahhhh. So same thing I do. I had heard jacks has 6% Mg and doesnt need epsom salts.

The 5-11-26 chemgro nutes I was using had like 2% so i needed epsom.

looking at this picture https://www.rollitup.org/attachments/img_1236-jpg.3840837/ i was imagining how much better it would be if the plastic wrap around the cubes were removed. there'd be a whole lot more room for roots to grow.

not saying that's what you should do, i know you already said you over vegged them. but it got me thinking of a system.

Imagine your table just the way you have it. you line up those same size rockwool cubes, say 12 by 6 spaced out evenly.

then you take a sheet of black lightproof plastic and make holes in it 12 by 6 that correspond to the rockwool cubes.

then you lay the sheet over the rockwool cubes and have your seedling/clones grow through the holes.
then you can remove the plastic around each cube because you have the black plastic sheet covering the roots.

you could then run a nutrient solution continuously from a return reservoir or flood and drain it.

the roots would be massive and the trees a lot bigger.

just something that came to mind is all.
