CalMag needed for me?

I'm on well water (175PPM) after going through a potassium water softener. I'm running Gh's 3 part base in hydro with rock wool medium. . I've heard varying opinions on wether i should be adding a cal mag product in. I really don't know how much calmag is making it through my softener and I'm not sure if there's enough calmag in water and flora serries combined? I'm kinda worried i could be getting too much with the addition of calimagic as this could lock out PK and other minerals. What do you guys think?

Plants really love magnesium and calcium. I usually run calmag from week three at a small dose, to about three weeks before chop, and then just run mag without the cal.

Here's what I don't get... cal or mag is the first ingredient in flora micro and bloom. these are ran throughout the whole grow. So assuming proper ppms are hit, cal mag should be hit. If not it's more of an reflection on the base nutrients quality not the need for a calmag supplement. Calmag supplements seem very redundant at best and very dangerous at worse locking out pk and other nutrients

This one adds Potassium instead of sodium. What do you mean by cal-mag elixirs are bullshit? Meaning not needed with Base Nutrients ?
If you choose to not run calmag just make sure you know what the symptoms of calcium, and magnesium deficiancy look like. I hang out in the plant problems section a lot and i see it all the time. If i dont run a supplement i always get mag def.

Go to the store and buy a big ass bag of Epson salt... there's your mag for way cheaper than that mixed bs. I do anywhere from a cup to 2 cups per 50 gal reservoir. 2 cups for the indica dominant and 1 to 1 1/2 for sativas

Exactly. The product Cal-mag+ is so redundant, you could theoretically grow with just cal-mag+ and a bloom booster. (with no base nutes). flora micro is basically calcium nitrate and iron edta. If you have a cal deficiency (extremely unlikely with those nutes), you can add more flora micro.

Gradually I stopped using all 3 bottles for straight up calcium nitrate, iron dtpa, etc. Calcium nitrate is so cheap, I can't understand why people buy tonics where it's the main ingredient. 50 pounds of yara cal-nit is about 35 bucks. That's how dumb cal-mag is.
