Coffee

I've found a growing expense that benefits coffee.

R/O water.
(I'm sure it's just assumed amongst some of you by now).

I tried it to combat scale buildup and much improved flavor was enjoyed as well.
The standard is day old Sumatra from a local roastery (lasting about a week per bag) fresh ground fine w/ a grocery store burr grinder (long story) through a drip maker and straight to vacuum pot.
Not the epitome, but a nice standard. ;)

I envy you folks w/ a home roaster, although I've heard some people use an old hot air popcorn maker to do it so I might give it a shot. :eyesmoke:

Buckold follows me like a shadow (some repressed homosetchual lust I think).

I'm thinking Buckold =

Coffee goes down as brewed here...

Hold on while I add limonene to my hash oil and vanilla extract to this glenlivet

But

To each their own

Except for steak. If you put ketchup bbq sauce especially a1 anywhere near good meat I will hurt you

I did try a new recipe where you carmelize onions in beer. Make it to a jelly top crackers and add cheese crumbles
And something green of you want it to look nice

Idk man I might try it. I've had amazing like roasted pecan etc rubs and glazes which is about the closest I can wrap my mind around right now though very different
A friend do a dry rubbed brisket once. Coffee, chili powder, s&p, brown sugar, cayenne, garlic, onion powder, I'm sure some other stuff. Was bomb AF. I think it worked good because of the slow cook, really allowed the coffee to come out. I think it would burn on a steak. Give it a try sometime.

Ok so is day old coffee considered blasphemy?
Get a good carafe. I did a bunch of reading and ended up getting a Nissan-Thermos glass lined, vacuum carafe I had to order from Europe , I think it's different than just the Thermos brand, idk, couldn't find it in the states. Either way it keeps coffee steaming hot till the next morning and is still warm the second morning. I'm a blasphemer, I make a pot and it lasts me 3-4 days, I can't be bothered brewing coffee every morning, not to mention the sound of beans grinding annoys the F out of me first thing in the morning..
