DIY with Quantum Boards

4 boards is what Capitan is running in a 3X3 on a 240 2100. In your space I think the 240 2100 will be plenty. If however you ever plan on upsizing your space the bigger driver would be nice. You can always dim the 320-2800 . Just my thoughts on the matter. It's extra $ up front but one thing I have learned is everyone starts out small and increases there grow space over time.
Thanks for your feedback

For a dedicated veg tent (5x5). would you guys recommend some vero cob framework from Timber or some Quantum Boards....?
Also, if the QB's... what setup would you go with for a 5x5?

4 boards on the 240-C2100b would be great, but maybe overkill? I think 3 boards would be good on a 240-C1750b. You'd get roughly 65watts per board at max. I'm going to run 2 in a tent with slightly more sq.ft.

So i have been following posts about the quantum's and will be
Ordering this week, question is this, does it make any sense running
4 boards. In a small tent 2X3x5. I have carbon scrubber and an inline fan. For driver im thinking about a 240-2100 or the 320-2800, using the A style. I dont plan on running them full throttle, that would be bad news, but having ability to turn down, efficiency would increase. Any input would be appreciated

what's the efficiency when run this hard?

The retrofit kit is being tested against a 1000 watt Hortilux. Both are in Magnum XXL reflectors. As far as I can tell I've tested both with a par meter and the Retrofit kit holds its own as far as intensity at the same hieghts as the his side. This particular build is running 550 watts at the wall vs the Hortilux 1060.

Thank you! I'm well below that with the slate 1 at 75w per board. I ran 50w up to flower and bumped it up to 75w per board. I have two circulation fans in my tent, one up top blowing down and another giving a slight breeze around the canopy. That and a filtered 4 inch extract fan. It's still very cool in my tent setup and I have to use a heater just to keep things above 75.

@Stephenj37826 want run the quantum boards in a 4x8 foot tent what would you recommend for a setup please
8-12 boards 4 240 drivers. I like the idea of 3 boards per 240 driver. Use HLG-240-2100A and you will achieve around 290+ watts wide open per driver/3 board combo. This will give you a great amount of light for flowering in that space.
