12/12 an auto at 4 weeks into flower?

out of curiosity I tried researching this but all I found were threads regarding doing 12/12 from seed with an auto or 12/12 during it's veg stage.

I'm wondering if anyone has put an auto into 12/12 AFTER it has been flowering for 4-6 weeks?

is there a noticeable yield loss? will it affect an auto plant as far as stunting or shock?

I've seen some loss doing this but not for all auto's. you'll have to try it to see for yours.
I veg under t5 so I wanted the extra par for my auto when I do it. Best to lower your
expectations of autos now, save the let downs later.....

its silly, but I have done it, not with an auto of course, but with various seeds, planted direct in 12/12. I'm surprised the
Hazes and sativas get quite large, she about 1/2 the yield as a full vegged(50 days or so). many are higher yielding than any auto I work with. some others though, fail miserably, into little lollipop plants with a bud on top.
all the seeds I've tried this with do ok if flowered a couple weeks after seed. I dont practice this, but I have done it, alot. spare seeds, funs, quick trials, fuckin off......

google it, There are threads of people experimenting.

I know the light schedule autos need. That's not what I was asking.

I may need to wrap up my grow by the beginning of May, All plants would need to be harvested by May 1st. Meaning The latest I can put my reg plants into flower would be middle February and not risk having to do an early chop.

With autos and regs in the same grow tent it makes things a little complicated. My autos would be 5/6 weeks into flower when I make the switch, So I was curious if anyone had ever done something like that and what their results were.

It's still up in the air on whether I have to do this or not, But I wanted to gather information in the mean time

I've seen grows where they do that and nothing bad happens. Yields may be a bit less on the autos but they still seem to do fine.

Why go off 24/0 to 18/6?
Cause that's the way I roll. ;)

I firmly believe that all plants do better with a night time and all the science supports that. Roots grow faster at night and the plants grow faster and larger with a rested root system. Like us plants like their rest and do better after a good sleep. Not to mention it saves a lot of money on electricity which is my largest cost for growing inside.

With autos under 24/0 from sprout it tends to retard the onset of flowering an extra week or so and the plants are larger before they start blooming so it helps toward getting bigger yields and can be done under fluoros cheaper. Then once flowering gets going they can really rock under the big lights.

I agree that starting (reg or auto) under 24 hours of light really makes them grow. I also agree that over time adding extra dark hours makes a difference.

I've seen some serious leaf growth when changing to a 6 hour dark period. I know most people do it for electricity reasons but I think there are many benefits. It's cool to see the plants that get used to the dark schedule and begin to droop a bit an hour or two before lights out, Then they're really perked up when they come back on.

24/0. 1 gallon grow bags. 600hps. FFOF.

Autos only live so long. Why deprive them of light.

Because this is how I roll.

I have lots more if you would to see them. The problem is people don't do their own tests and rely on what they read.
Very nice. I'm breeding an auto cross I made to produce lots of seeds for planting outdoors this spring as I'm so far north that photo plants can never finish in time outside. Will still likely just grow photos indoors tho. F2 seeds on my plants right now to get the next generation going as soon as they are ripe.

20 on 4 off the whole cycle do not transplant very little nutrients on all autos 7 to 12 weeks remember rudy is involved with all factors of the mix also besides photoperiod. they look wonderful so is it better than non auto flower type?? OGJC

I am a newbie and i finished my first grow going for second one... anyways....i really messed things up...i had soil at about 5.5 ph and i was overwatering them... i lost a lot of leaves due to deficiencies and nutrient burns ...i worked them at 12-12 which is not good for autos... and i still managed to squeeze about 50-70 grams from 3 autos....with 600 watt hps... i know its embarassing...but im gonna try my best this time...12-12 for autos may cause them to take longer to finish and maybe lower potency... my smoke was pretty good... no matter what its been throught... they just need love :p

I thought the same and then investigated 20-4 throughout cycle no transplant or super cropping they say the ultimate and the mazar autos produce 1/4lb on up and high thc. Remember Rudelaris present and not just auto flower photoperiod other traits are passed on this plant is low in THC High in CBD so might affect outcome different in each seed. Try to find the best Pure Indica cross with these traits my seeds start to bud in 48days from seed 4 weeks veg thats close takes three months instead of two months or more. The Dwarf Ryders produce little plants all buds try next. OG

I know autos do best on 18/6 or 20/4

I asked if anyone has had to put an auto on 12/12 after it had already been several weeks into flower and if they feel they experienced a significant yield loss. I know it's not recommended. I was asking from a worst case scenario perspective but the first poster answered my question.

P.S. Awesome looking plants HighLowGrow

i grew 6 autos....i dont know if i messed up with the soil ph nutrient feeding and stuff or i messed up with the light cycle being 12-12..
Maybe both affected my plants the bad way...

Guys does anyone know if the tempereture goes under 5 celcius at dark period what happens to the plants??
