trump supporters, is this your idea of draining the swamp?

This is the corruption of the US. Kleptocrats get laws written so that their theft is legal or minimally punished. Get caught selling a bag of MJ in Idaho and you are headed for serious trouble.

Your uncle wasn't any better, by the way. Your story shows what happens when people allow themselves to justify theft. I'm just as offended by right wingers like @Flaming Pie who either take or have taken federal aid money but vote for people who would deny the same aid to others. "Others" are weak and morally corrupted by federal aid and so in their own best interest should be denied it.

It's a cult and in a cult you don't question the leader, especially if he is the cheeto jesus.
I try my best not to villainies his supporters

I remind myself that if I had grown up in an area of less diversity and experienced very few cultures that I could be one of those uncultured untraveled people who live in a small bubble never experiencing other types of people

I currently live in a place where you could go a month without seeing a single black person and the peeps who live around me have never knowingly ever even met a person of the Muslim religion

its a big culture shock to move from a diverse location

I grew up in great diversity, a minority for 12 years. I was tortured, robbed at gun point, mom was beaten bloody twice during two of them, dad killed two armed robbers in the other one on our living room floor under the xmas tree! Every personal possession I owned was stolen from me eventually over the years, sometimes more than once if recovered. Our family kept loaded guns in most corners of the house, and we had a real indoor shooting gallery to practice in. This was around six mile rd in detroit. I owned long guns and a riot 12 pump and one handgun, a .38 special for as long as I can remember. I was instructed to sleep with that .38 gun most of my childhood. my parents had just enough sense to send me to an out of town school where life was more normal
I'm a white guy, the only one that lived on that god forsaken street. I hardly see people except my family and patients. I no longer sleep with a pillow holster, never been robbed or beaten since I moved. I wasnt the only oppressed in there, everyone was a victim.
These ghetto urban plantations were run by liberal democrats all my life then, still are, with their streets in a war, their services all but gone. They made black people so dependent upon government to secure their votes all the while calling anyone objecting to their devious plans a racist with greed in their heart. This wasnt a new strategy I learned but an age old one of that particular party. Their history is full of these nasty bits, only a google or pbs away.

drain the swamp??? yeah, right.

We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgment of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again

The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fold, that's all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
Cause the banners, they are flown in the next war

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
No, no!

I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
Though I know that the hypnotized never lie
Do ya?

There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Are now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

Great thread. Little disappointing reading through and not hearing anything from the right about what is happening. Guess it's hard to respond with the blinders on.

I wonder if after Trump and his cabinet are sent to prison, will they have a registry for Trump voters? You know, so they can be rounded up and put in camps for their own protection, they obviously can't be trusted with important decisions.

I'd be embarrassed to have voted for either candidate actually. Assume all you like, I thought both were crooked players from long ago.

there may be many reasons someone might support trump Im only suggesting one and im not suggesting everyone is the same

chem
I think you only validate me point of view

and that point of view is;
its all about your personal life experience that dictates your point of view

im so sorry you lived thru and experienced such trauma in your young life.
im sure if I had your life experience I might also share your point of view

I want to offer you an anology;

I grew up in an abusive alcoholic home
many people who grow up in this environment often times also become abusive alcoholics and others (like myself) rarely drink
its how you choose to respond to your traumatic life experiences that define us because it shapes our point of view

you have experienced racism, I have experienced it maybe on a rare occasion in my life, many people experience it in varying degrees... some people (like most black people) experience it on a regular basis

it is likely the people from your past whom abused you had been abused (victims of racisim) themselves and they themselves became abusers and racist and took that hate out on you
you don't have to be white to be a racist, ive known plenty of black folk that hate white people... why? because of there life experience

you being a victim of racisim I would ask you to look at your life experience in a way that says
"I wouldn't wish what happened to me on anyone of any race"
and
because I have experienced racism rail against racism.... otherwise you follow the pattern of becoming what you hate, you become the abuser

or did I misunderstand your intention?
more to do with thinking its a dem/repub thing. The system is corrupt, now more than ever. Neither "side" is the winner, we lose, they both win.
I shared my beginnings more to show the backdrop of a democratic city, the one I grew up in the 70's. my friends say I'm racist against my own color, I see people of all races failing, falling and flipping out. I moved far away from people, white ones too. many regardless of race suck if you havent noticed. i keep chickens ducks pigeons dogs cats fish and rabbits, we been together since we were kids, raised one of our own, he just got out of the Army, alive. She was raised right as rain and feels similar about our own race today.
good day

I can totally relate to that

I apologize if I misunderstood or made some unfair assumptions
