This is the last few days of blurple(Mars Hydro 600 5w chips) for these babies. The rest of my COB fixture components are almost here, and the timing couldn't be better!
Should have them under the new light by Wednesday at the latest. Hopefully they appreciate it! Only a couple weeks until flower baby!!

I'm looking to do 4 plants at a time and can't decide between the citizen 1212 or the 1818's. Space isn't a concern, neither is heat as I'm doing a watercooling setup. If i went with the 1212's i was thinking 80w a piece and 6 to 8 of them? The main benefit i see with the smaller cobs is running more of them with varying spectrums.

Go with 8 1818s over 2x4 or slightly larger. Contact @CobKits for help with citizen.

Thanks, I'll get in touch with him. Price is a concern which is also why i was eyeballing the 1212's. And the fact i could get them in 5700k. Maybe i could do 4 or 5 of the 18s and then throw some of the smaller 12s in to round things out? I'll be using 4 or 6" wide aluminum square tubing to mount them. So i could stagger the smaller cobs.

I misspoke for the size as well. 8 @ 70 watts each is 560. This should be enough to cover 12-16 sq ft

I've got 3 under 6 COBs @ 50w in a 20"x46" space, and that's probably overkill. Could have gotten away with 40w

at 70W go with the 1818s

1212s are out of their sweetspot out there

if cost is more important than efficiency it def a cheap solution that will work tho

Thanks! Yep price is the main concern right now. I'm not terribly knowledgeable on this but the cooler the cobs are run the more efficient they are correct? So driving the 12s near max, while keeping them cool would be effective?

sure, thats well within the 1212s operating range

at ~ 78W, 75C case temp
1212 = 130 lm/W
1818 = 144 lm/W
1825 = 159 lm/W

1212@75C case temp=130 lm/W
1212@25C case temp=139 lm/W

Also before driver losses.

So a 1212 at 78W is only as efficient as a Philips 13W (100w equiv) or the 13W/20W Osram parathom.

I dunno about that.. those are closer to 100 lm/W

driver loss is 5-10% max so youre still at 120 lm/W even when running it hard

where would i find data on the lumen maintanence for citizen cobs or luminus cobs.like where does it tell us how the rate for life of chip?are these still around 95% flux @ 50,000 hours or 20,000 or what ? i guess what im asking is how do these rate against cree and vero ?
