New Beginnings for Massachussetts and I

If you can grow peppers you should be able to grow a few tomatoes. I'm going to "multi-top" the plants and make them shorter and bushier ... left to their own devices, these things are beasts
The deer already love me. I actually saw one of the little gangsters up on its hind legs like a begging dog grabbing ripe apples off upper bracnhes. I never knew they could do that. Those suckers are tall when they do that. If I don't get to them first, they will clean out hundreds of peaches in a weekend.

Tie some streamers to the lower branches and get some Havaheat Deer Off to spray on the branches and leaves around the lower fruit. Deer are skittish about anything out of the ordinary and Deer Off works really well. Check out the ingredients :)

I tried everything including pissing on the trees myself. (my wife thought that was hilarious).

What worked was something called a scarecrow. It's a motion detector controlling a sprinkler head. When something breaks the beam, it will spray water from a pulsating head (the kind that goes thwack pift pift pift thwack...) for about 15 seconds.

Funny as hell when a neighbor tripped it. ;)

But I haven't used those since the trees were small. I guess I could. Just have too much life to putter in the garden that much.,

I love the challenge of Hydro-when it goes well,it's like autopilot;but things can go south quickly-that's why I check am. and pm.- case in point-went to check this morning and lights off on flowering plants WTF moment(don't panic-solve the issue) Last week it was a breaker issue(solved) today- plug pad sitting on basement floor developed condensation(and messed with digital timer) set pad off ground(milk crate) wiped off and reset timer, now all good- If I hadn't checked and gone to work, would have stayed dark for 14 hrs. plus(although I've heard stressing flowers makes them bigger( screw that theory) Time to eat the GREEN BUTTER and chill- then go start my babies(newgrow) on 1/4 nutes- Roots just emerging from netpot(need to do math on 1/4 formula times aprox. 3 1/2 gal. bubble buckets, then Ph all after 12 hrs.So based on 3 gal. per bucket( err to the short side with babies)- GH flora 3 pt. full would be 2.5 ml. per gal. ,so 1/4 would be .625 ml. times 3 gal.= 1.875ml.,so 2 ml. per bucket.LOL makes my brain hurt( more Green butter) then PH to 5.8 after time to mix.I knew these individual buckets would be a PIA-right now, not so bad, but when giant rootball developes, major PIA.Tradeoff to the RDWC I have planned; if something goes wrong(rootrot, etc.) it doesn't transfer to all.Right now, I can pull lid with netpot and plant and place on spare bucket, thus mixing,Ph-ing,etc right in bucket, then put lid back times 4. Like trying to feed quadruplets ( glad I didn't do OCTAMoM)

:clap:Thank you guys so much for everything. I think when I meet b4meliz on tuesday and graciously accept a few auto white widows I should be fine. I have all the equipment, just not the knowledge what the hell I am doing :-) I guess that takes practice (which i dont mind) and patience (which i dont have) You know what gets my goat? when i see the red cup challenge, or potato chip bag challenge and people do so darn good~ get like 2 ounces per plant~ and I cant even get roots going with $700.000 worth the shit I bought, LOL. maybe simple is better. I also have to remember...those seeds were easykush (sent to me in error by gorilla seeds) I had ordered blue dream, and they messed up. Now.... NO ONE has any clue what easy kush is or does. even the seller of the seeds couldn't answer my questions about who the breeder was, etc. Big red flag. She could have been just a bad seed. Literally! I will get back on the horse Tuesday night and start germing some fabulous white widow autos. And oh yeah, damn cat still wont look me in the eye.

@JustCallmeMom always remember that these are just weeds. That's why I went with the "instant plant" method for my first go. Super soil and auto's. Just add water!

Shh, I'm in the mini cup challenge and have no business even trying but I have the seeds so... :hump:

Actually I was doing the super soil thing too. I think this time I will just chill, not fret so much like a new mom, and let it do her thing. Its an auto this time too, better for my patience level, LOL. I have always had a black thumb, I just try TO hard. (its my nature) Just let the child be for gods sake!
I think the challenges are cool :-) good luck.

HSO (Humbolt Seed Organization ... they're the breeder so you can look for a seed bank that carries it if you don't want to deal with them direct) just released a new CBD strain ... Blue Dream CBD. If you haven't bought any seeds yet you might want to check it out.

Got an arduino. Want to make some customizable controls. Maybe hook it up to the internet so I can get alerts and check temps/humidity/light status in real time, feed it into graphs, etc. Has anyone found any good threads on that?
