ultra smooth, and it hasn't even been in the jar for 48 hrs! gonna be really nice in a couple weeks. Great flavor; like a berry/grape sweet tart with a nice cheese undertone. It reminds me a lot of the Dairy Queen that i'll be running again soon, except the DQ is like a cherry tart cheese.

I'm pretty much a light weight these days being back in classes, and this is an easy two hit quit for me.

Been watching a bunch of Elaine Ingham's stuff on youtube today.... learning a friggin' ton and I'm looking forward to sharing some of the new tricks I'm learning from her :) If I were an older dude..... hahahah

Anyway I have some pics i wanna put up, but looks like they're still repairing the site so I'll wait. I'll be home tomorrow anyway to see the garden and probably just post pics from this weekend instead of doubling down.

when you have 90 min to check out a video.... she's the best! Cakes and Cookies!!!!

looks like i'm gonna be making the switch to No-Till asap.... i'm tired of breaking up root balls to amend and recycle after each grow and DESTROYING EVERYTHING that i've worked so hard to build up.... FML

brewing up some tea, no molasses

4 gal h2o
bioag humic
2tbsp kelp meal
2tbsp alfalfa meal
2tbsp cannabis meal
double handful of bu's blend compost
double handful of EWC

got more foam on this tea than i've ever seen before. I wanna get some fish hydrolysate tomorrow if the grow store has a good one there. fungi love the fish hydrolysate (cold pressed only!)

learned from Elaine that the bacteria in the soil don't really need any help, they survive and reproduce just fine.... so no need to brew for bacteria. fungal is what we should be breeding in the teas and humic acid (not from leonardite) is killer fungal food! So that's what i'm doing for now!

also learned, to make your own humic acid (which you should be using in fungal compost teas) with really good compost, take a few cups of the compost in a strainer/sieve and slowly pour about a half gal to a gal through the compost to extract your own humics and fulvics! then put the material back in your compost (or feed to worms!). use the humics/fulvics for soil drench or in compost teas. she even stated you can do humic drenches as often as once a week. BOOM.

now i'm just waiting for the winter to pass so i can go out in the old growth forests and harvest some fungal and bacterial inoculants for my composts.

Native soil is an amazing resource for inoculating your compost.

I agave the garden a big dose of Crab and Kelp meal before the last rain storm.
yeah for sure on the native soil. can't wait til winter passes so i can go and hunt me down some organism rich soils to inoculate my compost and soils with!

Can't wait til pics start working again so i can see your garden mo! do you put anything else down for the plants besides the crab, kelp, and compost???

That is all I have added so far. With all of the rain I am waiting to be sure that what I put down doesn't get washed away.

The plants are looking lovely in the sun today.

using a mulch over the top dressings will help a lot against erosion.

Sun??? what is the sun??? we had 3 days of sun in january lol

Well i'm pretty pumped to see what is gonna happen with the product i ordered from BAS compared to the stuff i've been purchasing from the grow store (down to earth stuff)

I have had deficiencies my last two runs. One being Phos, and now it's Nitrogen and very slight Phos.
so I have two hypothesis'....

one being that the DTE products are just inferior and they're getting used up quickly, though i'm not really sure why this would be happening.....

another being that the soil has too much bacteria and fungi and not enough predators, and nutrients are being locked up by the life and not making it to the plant.... so in order to quantify this, I need to get a scope I guess to see wtf is going on in there! This one looks pretty dang sweet and is quite affordable, and I could definitely use it for school! http://www.ebay.com/itm/AmScope-40X-2500X-LED-Lab-Compound-Microscope-with-3D-Two-Layer-Mechanical-Stage/381347257727?rt=nc&_soffid=100&_soffType=SaleAndClearence&_trksid=p5731.m3795

I have checked my soil ph with my bluelabs probe and its spot on between 6.4 and 6.8, so I know ph is not the issue here.

when i first made the switch to organics, I was using top of the line inputs and I had no issues with deficiencies in my first runs, but then I was having the problems with powdery mildew and focused all my attention on that (many hours and much frustration) and I started buying the DTE products at that point.

The cheese i'm about to put into flower this coming weekend I added extra DTE neem, fishbone meal, and K boost at transplant and i'm hoping to see less issues after flip because of that.

new soil mixes will contain the higher quality products (the smells of them alone i can tell they are superior). and over the course of the next few months, i'm going to try and get switched to no-till, because I'm tired of destroying the castles that my microherd have built up, just for me to tear down at harvest. Sad beans there lol.

hope pics come back soon. at least we're up and running!

Hmmm...that might be my problem with my soil running out of N way too early. Almost all of my amendments are DTE.
i remember reading a post (can't remember what thread) but the person said they literally had to put 1.5cups of neem DTE brand into their mix to = the .5 cups of ahimsa neem meal. So i'm thinking this seems fairly accurate. maybe the DTE is not as dense (density of the granules) of a product as ahimsa's?

i'm fairly sure this was my first run with the DTE meal (i had ahimsa before this that i finally ran out of after a year lol) 10lbs lasted me a year.... can't say that for bottled products! i was not running many plants because of the PM, but still lol now i'll just use the DTE for topdress, wormbin, compost, and outdoor vege garden

ehhhhhhh we're back!

Container experiment is going well. so far the fabrics seem to be doing the best as far as veg growth went... but in flower all plants are looking good and growing nicely in their first week.

CheeseFlower2.jpg

looking good but i keep having this recurring issue in the first week or two of flower.... and i cant figure out if its the fan close by them or if its something funny going on in the mix.... maybe one of you has experienced this before?? seems like boron def???

CheeseFlower.jpg

also as mentioned above i think the DTE amendments are bunk and causing def in middle/late flower with N and K

GG4.jpg Brain.jpg

you can see the leaf margins of classic K def.

GG41.jpg

while the quality is not suffering... the quantity is! I just want to get this figured out. I'm hoping a few additional amendment applications will take care of the cheese run better than this run faired. and I'm hoping my next soil mix with the higher quality ingredients is going to do much better. I just need to get some new crab shell meal... that DTE stuff SUCKS.

Here's the current veg

Veg.jpg

and the roots at transplant!

Roots.jpg

seeing a little discoloration... but overall healthy looking.

Welcome back everyone. Have a good week, and see you around!

Been outside gathering fungi since we're havin' such a warm spell?? I know I have been out scouting for an area NOT near farms. I don't like the crap they spray on the soil in my area.
