Subbed !
... lights being used are Quantum Boards only.
They are the 2 X 250 watt kits wired in series. (waiting for another kit to be in stock)

The Quantum Boards have just been turned up to 400 watts and are floating about 30 inches above the canopy.
What does a 250 watt kit consist consist of? I don't see it listed on their website.

End of Week 2 12/12 Day14

Temps Lights Out: 22c
Temps Lights On: 24c

Lights @ 200 watts

Water from tap: EC0.2
Additives: Canna Mono Trace Mix till EC is 0.5

Plants fed: Ionic Hydro Grow @ EC 0.6 : Ionic Hydro Bloom @ EC 0.5

Total EC 1.1 PH 5.7 including trace elements.

So today is Day 14 of 12/12.
Have been trying to find the sweet spot for the wattage on the panels that makes the plants happy ie pray. (pain in the whole atm)
It seems to be 200 watts at a distance of 36 inches, coverage of the panels over the scrog seems to be fairly uniform.
As for stretch it is very little and reckon I could have filled the scrog space to 100% and then flipped to 12/12, lesson with these lights to be noted for next run.
Bud formation continues well with both plants, node spacing on the Dinafem Critical+2.0 is staying tight, and with the Dinafem Amnesia Kush it's node spacing seems to be normal with about 1/2 - 1 inch.

Bud formation looking fine with healthy foliage.

Well that's it for this week.
Take care all.

Ok folks, first time posting a grow journal here on rollitup.

Big thanks to the good people on RIU for helping me along the way, and a special thanks to Robin at Northern Grow Lights, a real pleasure to deal with, quality service.

My setup is in a 1.2x1.2 tent, lights being used are Quantum Boards only.
They are the 2 X 250 watt kits wired in series. (waiting for another kit to be in stock)

Plants being grown are Dinafem Critical+2.0 and Dinafem Amnesia Kush.
They are in 20litre Hempy buckets with a mix of 60% perlite and 40% canna coco pro, with clay pebbles in the bottom and clay pebbles on top so I don't disturb the growing medium to much when watering.
The plants have been trained to grow wide from the start for scrog, under a couple of 3070cobs.
At present they are currently weaving their way through a 1x1meter scrog net, and just starting their 2nd week of 12/12 with the Quantum Boards.
The Quantum Boards have just been turned up to 400 watts and are floating about 30 inches above the canopy.
Temps inside the tent with lights on 24-25c, Lights of from 20-24c.
They are being fed Ionic Hydro Grow, Canna Mono Trace Mix.
EC is 1.1

I am not on here to preach the usual led bollocks and wild claims on yields etc.
I have grown for a good while under burples, hid, and cobs, time will tell me how well they work, so long as I don't screw it up.

If your interested feel free to pull up a seat.

I will upload pictures in the morning and will update my diary every Monday
I've been Looking at HLG 550 Quantum boards. How many watts do they pull from the wall? The one I'm looking at has 1215 561c Samsung diodes. I'm subbed gonna pull up my La-Z-Boy. Just trying to get some information before I make my purchase. Thanks
Good luck

550 watts or slightly more I reckon. Same kit more less. Save your money and buy 2 x 250 watt kits when in stock. It takes about 15mins to wire and hang in the grow room.

Just a quick update, the grow room environment is now dialled in, lights are 30 inches above the canopy and running at 590 watts, flat out.
With that sorted onto the next project.
Waiting on a roll of orca grow film to arrive and some wood to get started building a new flowering cab designed around the Quantums to replace the tent, for next round.

Take care all next update Monday.

After a week or so of being stuck in bed a little update.

Day 28 12/12
Temps Lights Out: 22c
Temps Lights On: 24c

Lights @ 550 watts

Water from tap: EC0.2
Plants fed: Ionic Hydro Bloom @ EC 1.3

So today is Day 28 of 12/12.

After a week of neglect, the plants didn't even get water etc things have in my eyes went to shit no surprise there.
Now I'm sorta back on my feet I'm hoping I can get the girls back to a more healthy state.
Both plants are on Bloom feed and I will have to give them a little cal-mag boost.
I will need to get in there and defoliate like mad this week (I'm a week or more late at doing this), lots of buds in the net need some space to breath and also way to much foliage to be healthy.
This will set them back realistically about 5 days, but If I don't sort it now it will be a breeding ground for disease.
As you can see from some of the images the buds are stacking at a fantastic rate and the frost is well under way from the top of the canopy right down and below the scrog net. Impressed with that so far.

Not much else to say, so here is some pics to tide things over till the next update.

Take care all.

Some defoliation and scrog net pushed down tight in the corners to form a dome shape a help spread out the colas.

About 30+ squares in the net not utilised due to me being caught out with the lack of stretch. Will no for next time.

I think it is safe to say at this stage anyone thinking of replacing a 600w hps, or thinking of buying 2 x 315cmh lights now have another option with a lot more savings.

Day 33 12/12 550W

Shot at lights of and just after feeding. Quality of the image sucks but fuckit.

Your plants looks Awesome man! they did a nice stretch from the last picture I seen! Are you in a 4x4 tent? You're going to have a nice haul. Just finished a soil 4 plant ScrOG with a $5 trellis and just weaved hemp line to make this squares smaller. That's with a burgle cheap a Chinese job mars ll 1600 besides their shitty customer service they did grow nice plants Nice all dense buds, pulled a little over an elbow.
Nice Job!
Good Luck!

@lukio I did and they didn't like it, be fine with the panels turned down a bit. So back up again.
Next grow will be interesting, 5ftx3ftx7ft cabinet and 8 qbs all running soft, I reckon no more than 300-400watts required. Based on my findings with 4 boards atm.
8 QB's in a 5x3 that might be a little over kill IMO. Unless you mean with the 4QB's in the ScrOG tent. Anyway it's whatever works for you

@lukio I did yes but he was also running them soft, and you can see how the light being so close caused then top buds to grow flat. He also agrees to close. All a learning curve for everyone I think and whats working for one may not work well for the other.

@215Kush overkill if running them hard very much so. I'm not worried about the cost of the build, I'm more interested in lower energy bills over the next view years.
Cheers lads

I understand I didn't even think of it like that turning them down! I'm new with QB's so trying to read as much as I can. I'm sure you'll save yourself a lot on your electricity bill at that rate really all around the board, they're very efficient from what I was running.
Happy Growing
