About the light leaks. It's not the light it's the stress. If it is usually very dark and now the plant has a beam from even a pinhole it can cause stress. All kinds of things can. I am very diligent about my environment from nanners at a pinhole like you are experiencing. I patched the hole. No more nanners.
there's no way "all kinds of things" can happen. we're talking about needing enough light to fire up photosynthetic processes here. a pinhole is incapable of that. i guarantee you can not locate a pinhole of light beam on a leaf in a dark room unless it's a pencil hole or bigger. it's far more likely that you corrected some other issue (like your feeding you mentioned) that resulted in the nanner cure.

think about it... people run fem seeds outdoors right... is it ever so dark outside that you can't see your hand?? rarely. especially when you're plants are in an area that is wide open to receive a lot of sunlight, you're also going to get ambient light from moon/stars and nearby cities.

Indoor and outdoor are completely different.

I am saying if it is pitch black in the room and that is the stability the plant is used to it may react to a small stress. It is in its genetic code to reproduce. It doesn't always take enough light to cause a photosynthetic reaction. Or even enough to interrupt flowering.

And I am not disagreeing that nute stress is a much larger factor. But you put a little light from the kinked zipper flap of my old tent on a Thai pheno and notice the stamen are right about where the light is on the plant. And no more after repair. Or any other plants except for the exceptions I noted above.

It was a sunlight leak too.

But I was saying that they are not such a worry for the most part anyway. :-)

i don't understand how indoor/outdoor are any different. the plant only knows light cycles and life/cell cycles you know?

Outside is constantly changing and the plant is constantly adapting. Even to how much light. In my room it is not.

And to prove it we have to "harden off " plants that we bring outside to flower from inside starts a bit at a time. Or they can't take the harsher environment.

But again I am not arguing the science of how much light it takes to alter the flower cycle of a plant. Just stress response. Which is a little harder to define I think.

I have spoken to the breeder of my feminized seeds often for the last few years. He has decades of experience and knows many of the famous classic breeders.

I had to comment about the nanners. One thing that can cause them in fem seed is rooting hormones used even at the start. He warns heavily about that.

Except for Chem based and diesel strains. Wild sativa backgrounds like Thai too. They have a tendency to make late nanners. I see them on some of mine in the last weeks on the top buds.

I just pick them off. My breeder laughed at me when I killed a plant for it. I have never seen more than a few bagseed and barely any the better my cycles run.

There is very low chance of viable pollen on late nanners.

I have seen some real potent diesel phenos put them out about week 5 too. But no damage when I diligently pick them off.

And I run a perpetual with plants in all stages so it was a worry for me.

Just wanted to help. I have gotten great plants from the s-1 seeds that resulted as well.
I no longer use root hormone or nutes for that matter; just water in my aerocloner roots out clones in less than a week. I've gotten by plucking off nanners late in bloom but these were just about finished anyway. Even just one seed would be too many for me; have caught them too late before. Impregnated all my girls & that thoroughly sucked. Afgooey had way more than I thought especially on the lower branches & it's possible that pollen has already been peppered in there; hopefully it's not viable as you say. I fixed the hole(s) now time will tell if it's no longer an issue. Thanks for your help; appreciate any and all advice I can get

You can never be sure there won't be bag seeds. Nature will win. But if you got that much pollination it happened early in the flower cycle. It takes weeks for the seeds to mature. So late nanners can't really do that. Just those immature little seeds maybe.

Seeds in a female flower mean stress. I had to drastically lower my nute strength for some strains. And of course intemittent issues like light leaks. But a clean low stress grow with good genetics should bare few to no seeds.

I choose vastly different genetics than the popular ones I see here. So I can't comment on the specific strains or breeders. My advice. Use only long term classic breeders.

Love this strain & I wanna order a 10 pk but all I find is fem seeds & im all done with those now. Thought about revegging her but I got no room. Check out the perty fall colors on her...

Yay pics are back! The last few plants that I have harvested have beem somewhat disappointing in the yield dept. Was thinking it was because the old 600w hps bulb in the bloom room had not been replaced in 14 months. Ordered a Solistek 10k MH to replace it because I read it has an enhanced spectrum that is closer to the Suns natural colors and emits both UV a and b which is supposed to help boost trichome production.
It was suggested by a trusted organic grower that frequents these parts to remove the glass as UV light can be absorbed by it. Seems much brighter than the hps with or without the glass but after about 20 mins temps had rose over 80 which will not do. Usually the room stays under 75 deg with lights on this time of year. Can get much hotter during the dead of summer so its not gonna work. The glass is back in the hood for now. If this bulb doesn't perform I'll just get another hortilux hps. I'm optimistic it's gonna work just not sure how well....

i run glassless hoods... you pretty much have to have a fan pointing at your bulb all the time to run glassless. i'm sure you did that anyway but i thought i'd mention it regardless.

Tried that but it didn't work; had a small clip fan directly blowing on the bulb. I mean it could be made to work with some modifications and maybe a more powerful intake fan but I think it would still be impossible to keep temps in a safe range during the summer.

Are you using any ac in your room?

Nope no a/c; the electric rate around these parts is already among the highest in the USA. In the summer I run central air but there's no ducts going into the bloom room. Ambient temps stay nice & low when I do run it but the power bill can get ridiculous so we try to run it only when it gets uncomfortable.

IMG_3737.JPG OK so I've been using the Solistek 10k 600w mh bulb for over a week now. Not sure if it's "better" than the hps but it holds it's own as a standalone flowering light. It seems much brighter than the old hps but that could just be because it's new. I've kept the glass in the hood and temps are as normal. I've noticed some of the buds are getting dense and frosty now but that could be because half the plants in there are only a few weeks from harvesting. Still using leds as side lighting; it remains to be seen how plants do a full flowering cycle under this lighting in its current form but here's a pic of my most recently harvested plant. It is a cherry bomb I think but guess I forgot to label it; I knew I had another clone somewhere dammit lol
Next up on deck; super lemon haze stay tuned

I'm definitely going to be on the watch. I'm almost sure that is the cherry bomb and pretty by the way. I have a few of them myself but haven't made a move yet. I also use led side lighting.

IMG_4294.JPG Well one thing is certain; pics look better under the mh than with a hps.
This super lemon haze is 65 dayz in bloom; wish I could give it another week or 2 but there must be a magical leprechaun that smokes all my weed while I'm at work...no way the ol lady smokes it all; wink wink nod nod...Stash is gettin low so gotta get to choppin but are 2 more SLH plants placed the same day as this one so Imma take it and let the other two go to 10 or 11 weeks. Yeah I know she got the claw all of these SLH plants I've run so far have looked like that; thinking I gotta back off on the chicken manure...too much N

2 strawberry sour diesel plants, 2 different phenotypes 2 weeks into bloom phase. SSD is among my fave strains & has become a staple in my garden for years. On my 3rd pack of fem seeds; still got a few more but I can't find them in reg. Noticing now how droopy my plants look...guess they needed water; it's been so dam dry around here....IMG_4300.JPGIMG_4301.JPG
