AMC cuts that scene out, now.
I saw it a few years ago, so, not within cultural context. It was totally embarrassing to even watch. Caan took a flower pot, dumped it out, put it on his head and made buck teeth. He made chinese gibberish, cloaked himself stuck out buck teeth and snuck up on an adversary then took him out. The worst part was the buck teeth and nonsense sounds. It was an amazing insight into what was considered comedy in it's day. this society...

The assumption was that chinese were invisible I guess..

To an extent, I think it's the product of its time. It was still post-war, the cold war was kicking in, and the 'heathen Chinese' were blossoming as a threat. Until the Civil Rights Movement really kicked in, America was listening to Patti Page and Pat Boone, having cheated the real fathers of rock and roll of their royalties and casting them aside. Racism was still rearing its ugly head each and every day. Only the British Invasion broke the floodgates. Boone and Page were swept aside and Chuck, Richard and Bo became popular, again, too. People started being less racist, and seeing things in a different way. Of course, on the West coast, it was all different. As usual, California led the way.

No sir. We kicked butt in Grenada. The Reagan right howled for joy at the military might displayed when we kicked that menace's ass.
Desert Storm we won too. We can win wars no problem but we can't force regime change.

Lol.

You know what a war with North Korea would mean?

North Korea burns...
War with China and the Philippians. Not sure about Russia either they are cool with China and North Korea.

It's not going to be that easy to just wipe out China's strongest ally.

Good old Rex was just visiting the Chinese President about North Korea being a dick.

China wants to be friends with the US far more than it wants to be friends with North Korea.
