PBS to broadcast three-hour right wing movie

The Public Broadcasting System (PBS) is planning to air a three-hour “documentary" called Schools Inc. that tells a very one-sided story of school privatization. It is anti-public education propaganda.

The film was produced by the Libertarian Cato Institute (which supported Betsy DeVos as Education Secretary) and got funding by extreme right-wing conservative foundations.

How far they have fallen...... What could possibly motivate ANY broadcaster to devote 3 hours to propaganda?

And the networks wonder why viewership is down.

Viewership is down because everything is free with no commercials online.

Stop trying to conflate everything to fit in with your narrow and mislead narrative.
He has a point, most have realized or 'awoken' to the fact News channels are one big fuckfest of lies, believe don't believe them as 85% is bulllshit lies.

This my friends, is how fascism is spreading. PBS, once a valued and independent champion of education and human rights, is in the end, a corporation run by fearful exec's out for profit over substance.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has been subverted from the top. They have been threatened with everything from loss of tax exempt status to loss of federal funds to loss of station licenses.

It worked. Fascism wins.

Any entity which derives its funding thru involuntary means is not interested in human rights.

People are misunderstanding what PBS is and what it's mission is.

Public Broadcasting Service

It's goal is to show everything in the public interest. If it showed nothing but democratically funded programming, it would truly be propagandist. Fact is, they're showing anything that anybody pays to put on the air so long as it isn't outside the scope of its mission.

This program isn't. If nothing else, it can (and in all likelihood will) show people just how far around the bend the right has gone in order to make money off of education rather than fulfill the actual duty of educating America's children.

Actually, the CPB has a charter, and it dictates that PBS will not show unfounded or misleading "paid" programming, from either side.

They put on plenty of programs that show right as well as left leaning viewpoints. No harm, no foul.

This is a paid and crafted hit piece on public education. Even the creators will say they have a political agenda in making it.

If the makers want it on tv, pay for time on fox. It doesn't need to be a freebie on PBS. This isn't a free speech issue.

Nothing on PBS is broadcast for free. That's why every program list sponsors that paid for it to be made and broadcast. Nobody ever said it was a free speech issue either. There is also nothing "unfounded" in their ideology, it's simply that you (and I as well) don't agree with it.
