Does smoking lots of weed make you lose weight?

I see two scenarios:

1. You smoke the sacred herb and it induces intense starvation pains, and you eat. I helps to induce appetite and you don't lose weight, it helps you to maintain and even gain weight in some circumstances. Patients of debilitaating diseases that have loss of appetite, depression, sickness; The sacred herb can save lives by inducing appetite. No other thing I'vre ever experienced has as an intense appetite inducing effect as most if not all herb strains out there.

2. You smoke the sacred herb and it induces intense starvation pains, and you don't eat. Then you sit around smoking more watching movies playing with your junk, going hours and hours not eating and smoking more and don't take care of yourself and just act like junkie and then you'll start losing weight continuing like this.

Scenario #2 is me at one point in my life.
I've learned to NEVER ignore the hunger inducing effect the herb provides.
It is medicine.

I'm not trying to be an ass, just like to give ideas.....

Consider the 1000's of compounds that are in the sacred herb. We have isolated certain compounds and decided that's all we need. I don't believe this. This is like pulling just the sugar, out of honey and saying they are both the same and provide the same nutritional value, which would be false. Honey comes from different plant nectars packed with vitamins and minerals and 1000's of compounds which would be in the honey. The bees make the Honey with a special enzyme in their gut, that science cannot synthetically replicate in any laboratory. They cannot patent it. So the herb has 1000's of compounds inside that are intertwined and work in synergy together to do things to us we do not even undertsand yet. We cannot identify 1000's of compounds in the sacred herb, or Honey for that matter. I don't believe in seperating the constiuants that make up the sacred herb, and then expecting it to have the same healing effect as traditional methods of ingestion.

I smoke a lot for decades and have a normal body mass index. Know many fit folks that smoke. Not sure these anecdotes mean anything, but get some healthy snacks if it concerns you. :bigjoint:

The munchies are a lie, don't listen to them and they go away. You only need to eat once a day. Unless you are an Olympic runner. Even then, they don't go to DicMonald's or Taco Balls 4 times a day. Weed makes you smart over time, not wanting to eat after every hit like you did when you only smoked on the weekends.

I've had fat weed friends and skinny weed friends. I prefer the skinny ones. No "Im fatter" excuse to double hit it, and never begging for me to buy them food because they got me high off a joint they hogged 90% of.

yes as the first response said you have 2 choices when smoking on how your going to handle yourself. IMO if you start your day out eating then smoking it normally helps me not constantly hit the pipe.

Munchies are very real imo, but the more you smoke n become a daily toker the less the munchies control you, I know when I get stoned I can kill a sleeve of Oreos and a quart of milk,,somthing I'd never be able to do sober

I'm a heavy set guy, 5'10 about 190lbs and everything makes me gain weight. I eat a burger and next Morning I'm weighing 194lbs, in my finding when I want to eat less I smoke. It gets me so high that I have a less desire to eat, and when I am hungry it's mental and there's no physical stomach pains. The downside is you wake up around 4/5am in the morning the next day starved because you tricked your body into let's for example not eating dinner at night or maybe just eating a protein bar. So to combat that I eat a quick health snack at 4am like an apple or banana

The trick is to be smart about it.

Have healthy food ready. The munchies are a effect tied to dehydration. I recommend having a smoothie, and if you can exercise while high, make it a recovery smoothie.

Being healthy can feel like a full time job, but I believe once you've built healthy habits, especially around cannabis, you can feel healthy, happy, and accomplished about your achievements.

I completely agree with Lord Kanti. I've always been slim and haven't had much desire to watch my health habits until quite recently.. It's a tough transition. It takes a lot of willpower and discipline, but once you get on track it becomes second nature. You start feeling happier and clear minded. You start experiencing the world differently. You feel more connected to nature. Add some ganja into that mix and you're one happy camper.

Eating once a day is the worst thing to do.

Eat 6-8 times a day no more than the hamd can hold. It keeps metabolism up. A lot healthier. Keeps blood sugar from spiking and dropping.

Started smoking again at 33 to help with chronic pain and to take the place of my daily couple of beers after work. Absolutely helped me lose weight because I no longer "needed" those daily beers. I like heavy (high calorie) local craft beer, 400+ calories each x2 per day really added up! Much healthier now and about 50 lbs lighter. BUT, I started up the beers again this summer and quickly gained 10 lbs, time to change again!
