Last Flight of the Hempstar

Because of demands from the LED section , you wanted it so you got it

This is a sage by stage show of my room, I grow with 3590 3000Ks in veg and SK600 plus some supplemental in flower.

Veg room is about 78 F and 70 RH
Flower room is about 80 F and 60% RH day and 50% RH at night

The strain is a 20 year old cut of Hempstar. I have been having a horrible time with her converting over to LEDs and it seems I finally have some ok growth going on. I have another strain in the wings that I plan on replacing the Hempstar with. So these are some of the last plants of this legacy.

I run my room as a continuous crop that runs at a 2 week interval

This is is day 6 clone no roots,
day 6 veg,
day 20 veg wit his little lifetime best friend companion plant "Micro"
day 34 veg in the sack
and again day 34 veg, the sensitivities of this plant are showing in the lower leaves
day 6 of flower pruned back on day 1 of flower
again day 6 flower sensitive little sobs
the last 3 are day 20 of flower, you can see it is really happy yet still has a consistent problem with the bottom leaves

estimated pull off most recent crop 800 grams, you can equate this to 2.25 SK600's, and looks like mid grade commercial. Very disappointed. This is costing me to grow more than I am getting. 4 more weeks then I am making the final call wither to switch back to HPS or not. Same pull with an HPS would be around 11-1300g's under 1.5 lights and look top drawer

Also just cant seem to get enough Nitrogen into these plants under the SK's.

Reefersaurus is not a happy dinosaur.

Here is a comparison between a plant grown directly under an sk600 a plant more direct under a 10k mh bulb and a plant between the 2. All subject plants are at day 23 of flower

This first one the one on the center right is directly under the sk600. notice the yellowing of the lower leaves. The yellowing of the top is a lighting issue the top is more like the plant above and below

This is the plant between the 2 notice the yellowing is more pronounce on the left side witch is closer to the sk light

This plant is more directly under the 10k bulb notice much less yellowing of the lower leaves

So I am starting to thing that the problem is with these full spectrum chips they have dropped the Blurple and have gone too far to the middle spectrum, I think that maybe we need to spit the middle and have more plurple

Get your temps up to 85 and get more nutes . I've had multiple hps growers say the same thing. It's a different light with different parameters. Read the plants dont follow a schedule that was derived off hps rooms. That was my mistake and now I'm pulling way more with the led then I ever was with hps

What ec did you run with hps and what are you running with the leds now?

So time marches on , these are some pics of stuff that is happening now. I am sorta happy with most of it. The plants are 2 weeks apart in flowering times.20170804_125446.jpg 20170804_125623.jpg 20170804_125637.jpg 20170804_125734.jpg 20170804_125740.jpg 20170804_125750.jpg

These last 4 pic's are the same plant with about 5 days to go. Before and after stripping out the yellowing leaves

Here are some drying shots of the the hempstar. Day 5 of drying. 20170812_105003.jpg 20170812_105023.jpg 20170812_105038.jpg

It almost seems that the hempstar has seen the rival strain show up in the room and has decided to quit acting up and play the game again.
That being said the weights are still out so I am not sure about these leds yet

Trimmed and bagged a quarter of the room today, it has dried for 5-6 days , snapping stems on 90% it is perfect and will lose a little more while it cures over the next week or so.

It looks good, and the scissors got really gooed up, had to clean every 1/4 p.

Any way the result from my spectrum king 600's with ir and uv supplementation is............................................ .56g per watt.

it will go down a touch but not much

the next pull will be better but I did expect more.

With DE HPS I used to pull .906 g per w for a normal good pull.

these sk 600s are getting 2 more weeks to prove themselves or I will have to make some hard choices.

Reefersaursus is a sad dinosaur

Unofficial test. A random test bud from the last pull came in at an estimated 28% thc. So I guess the Spectrum Kings got that going for them

Hey Los R!
Just ran a spectrum king SK400+ garden 4 lamps in a 9FT x 7 Ft. my strain I had been running from seed for many years did not seem to fill out nearly to what I was used to The calyxes were smaller and less dense the plants overall more leafy I ran temps 84 to 89F and humidity between 45 and 60percent on rainy days. I hear what you said about the purple being out of spectrum and I had already been looking for a supplement for next go round.
Anyone have any suggestions?
