DIY with Quantum Boards

They were sold as full spectrum look more pink then anything
Full spectrum lighting looks white. It might be warm white (lower Kelvin temperature) or cool white (higher K value) but it's always white. Having run both, I'm a big believer in full spectrum.

I'm not even all that thrilled about running different colors in veg vs bloom; my 3000K LED lights kicked ass no matter what stage the plants were in, from babies to late bloom.

UVB is 280-315 NM . Most if not all lights have very little or No UVB. Some do have UVA but that's not proven to do anything. IMHO I think that the reason CMH and LED enhances quality is the full spectrum and the added blue/green.
I see where the chilled LED site is showing the UVA is very important ?

I still use several full spectrum blurples. they have lots of white diodes in addition to the blues and reds, so they definitely have the full white spectrum but the resulting light, because of the blues and reds, is blurple (but like a bright white lavender-ish color, different than the old neon magenta colored light from blurples with no white)..

not exactly true. I have seen 2 honest LED growers here. of course they were criticized by the rest of the LED crowd. that being said I have used the bridgelux ED strips which use the same samsung 561 diodes and they are much more efficient than the older bridgelux diode and even most cobs. they do provide more uniform light distribution but will burn plants if placed closer than 15 inches away. plant do require more care to deal with the deficiencies that occur with LEDs and yield and quality was lower than test grows with a 150 watt hps.I'm a T5 PU MMJ closet growers but I like experimenting with other types of lights and from grows on you tube and test grows by green house supply companies my disappointing experience with LED is not uncommon. no hydro shop of garden center in my area carries LEDs and none recommend them. T5s are by far the most popular grow light with HPS holding a strong second place although cmh is a strong and upcoming challenger.the LED crowd is a very vocal minority. why do you let them upset you? or do you just enjoy arguing with them?on you tube the average yield is about 0.3 gpw for cheap multiband leds and 0.45 gpw for high end lights using cree or osram LEDs so when a small group of stoners claim that they can beat conventional grow light by an incredible margin using homemade grow lights most people who have done their homework just ignore them. I could claim 2 gpw if I weighed my buds after trimming but before drying :):):)
Reference please. WHO is pulling less than 1/2g/watt using "high end leds"? A retarted, blind monkey? Because I know Viparspectra ownera (FAR from high end) who pull well over that.
So you mean to tell us all - with a straight face - that Spectrum King, cree 3590's, hlg qb288's - everyone using these LEDs is getting less than 1/2g/watt? Well, Im no expert, but send them to me, because the LEAST Ive personally seen is just over 0.75g/watt - &that was with lower yielding gsc. Its funny to me, when ppl screw up, or have a poor experience, then conclude that EVERYONE has a poor experience. Well, the reason I even wanted a qb288 "high end led", is because I KNOW someone who is killing it with quantum boards. I dont get all of the argument - there ISNT any argument. High end leds have been VERIFIED as badass. PROVEN to pull more per watt... IF you use them properly. Dont raise em 3ft over your plants - basic common sense. Theyre best in a tent setting, dont have the biggest spread - but I dont care. The whole POINT, is to harvest weed. I want the light that helps me harvest the most weed, in the smallest space. Because of their low running temp, LEDs do this better for me than HID's. Used HID lighting exclusively for 20 years. I know what theyre about. They get the job done - but dont lend themselves as well to tent growing, and I tired of the high cost of ownership. Now, I dont have to buy replacement bulbs every 6-12 months & the cost in electricity is considerably less. Anyone wanting to grow big, tall sativas may want to go with a Spectrum King LED, or add extra side lighting qb's. But I just dont get it... some half assed, diy led strips didnt work for you, so leds suck? 0.45g/watt from HIGH END leds? What planet are you on? Who are these pathetic growers who cant manage 0.5g/watt with a Spectrum King or a QB288? Because I ASSURE YOU... it is THEY who are in the minority. HID's definitely still have their place - love the spread, love the price :) But a high end LED cannot be beaten watt for watt, with equal genetics & equal growing skill. PERIOD.

Quantum " NURSERY ROOM " - 3 panel Batwing

Warming up in the bullpen - some clones and new seedlings including a " DOUBLE " seedling.

Quantums are perfect for clone domes - providing plenty of humidity without a warming mat .
Green Crack was given a haircut and may get mainlined.
Got take a few cuttings from a buddies Critical Jack , so hopefully I can get those going ,
One for seeding and others for growing. Not sure what to do with DOUBLE , I may transplant ( cut bag into container ) to grow this out ... Ideas welcome.

Hey, about to set this light up tomorrow & have some questions. My electronic store has wago connectors with 3 inserts. Will these work or do I need the one with just 2 holes. If I'm running 2 boards per driver in series do I need 1 100k potentiometer or 2 50k? I thought I read somewhere you need to 50k if your running more than one driver.

You can use a 3 connection wago just fine to connect 2 wires, you are just paying for more capacity than you are using.

The number of boards doesn't matter for dimming purposes. What matters is how many drivers you are controlling off of 1 potentiometer. If it is 1 driver, you need a 100k pot. See here for more information: https://www.rollitup.org/t/meanwell-led-drivers-3-in-1-dimming-function.838760/

Hi, does anybody know how discreetly HLG ships and what the return address says? I'm worried about a package arriving from Horticulture Lighting Group. Also, I'm a little worried that the package for a slate 2 triple will look suspicious. Thanks!

I shipped mine to my job in an international country. They packed everything well & no info was on the outside box but a DSL packing slip. I got the slate 5 heatsink aswell & it never looked odd in the box.
