Weed for anxiety.

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a strain of weed that counters anxiety.

I don't get anxiety generally. Only when I smoke. I remember reading somewhere that different strains can calm anxiety.

Any help is great, thanks.

Good question and I can only add that even though I enjoy a smoke now and then, I noticed when I made my butter my high had less of an anxiety feeling and a much more relaxing high.

if marijuana gives you anxiety you shouldnt use it till your less anxious. it doesnt work like an rx, there is no
strain for this or that. each one can affect people differently on different days even, with different health both mental and physical health will play a role in effects experienced. best of wishes. or just stick with butter right

There probably aren't any doctors around here......so Here I go ----- Start testing products. Blue dream made my anxiety melt, but that's not to say others cannot and do not. Shocking facts about cannabis can be found, if you use Google. I won't talk much about what I have read. Do not want to come off as an idiot who thinks he is smart.. Mature buds will give you the relax you need, depending on genetic. Premature ANYTHING makes for a racey time

Yea, you really need to grow your own to be able to judge the trichomes and ripeness that you prefer. Leafly would be a good starting point. They rate strains by differing effects.. Anything I've ever had from a dispensary has made me anxious. Eating a well decarbed oil or butter seems to be best.. Bubba 76 grew like crap, but I loved the smell, flavor and mellow 70's buzz...

I think that today's weed is just way too strong. Have to find old school strains with lower THC so that you can monitor your intake. I recently saw a strain named Industrial. Sounds like it'd be right up my alley. You could roll a nice fat joint, enjoy the smoke and still function.

You need to find a strain that works for you. In general sativa strains tend to relieve anxiety. Indicas, in general, can foster it and increase it for varying periods of time during the high.

If you use weed sporadically it will likely not do much for you. If you use it regularly it will likely help you.

It is the same with antidepressants...

Thanks for the advice guys.

I've just started my first 3 autos. So I'll experiment once I'm curing and see how it goes.
Autos have a lower thc content than their photoperiod counterparts. Which isn't a bad thing if you're looking for anxiety relief. That combined with autos usually having a higher cbd content. I think there's a good chance you might be growing what you're looking for. :bigjoint:

all of the higher cbd plants give me serious stomach upset and anxiety.
many autos I've grown did the same, for their higher cbd maybe

what about just CBD products in oil or vape
never bothered, no need really, just curiosity but I do vape my but and have vaped high cbd with the same il results.
I also know a few people that depend on high cbd preps for their relief daily.
Just the point that some people react differently than others with the same strains or preps=chemotype.

Well if you take a chem, add cbd , then to it off with a phlegm. Well... you end up with quite a concoction. Lol... He's is right, in general cbd will help people. I have heard of it affecting people like he speaks. And two different people will feel different effects from the same pot. That's why you see so much debate on whether sativa is good for anxiety, or indica. We need to learn more about terpen profiles and how they interact with an individual's cannabinoid system.

My wife and I both have anxiety her to the max with PTSD indica works best for both of us. But a few sativa work. Most sativa make it worse for both of us. There are so many factors. Trial and error is best keep note on what works and what makes it worse you'll learn the strains that work best for you everyone is different. Need federal government to legalize so we can get more testing done

If marijuana is giving you anxiety then you should use it in moderation. Every strain affects people differently.Although, Northern Lights, KingLouis XIII, and blue dream can help in easing out anxiety but you can try other strains too.

The only strains that increase my anxiety are ones that were harvested early. Sativas, indicas, hybrids, they all work great if harvested at full maturity. So grow your own and control the desired effect.

Its cause your strain has too high THC to CBD ratio

Sativas generally have this. Good indica wont, but has couch lock trade off...

There are good hybrids even classic ones that give you the good grove without knocking you out or making you paranoid

White widow for example great for ppl prone to paranoia or anxiety and still productive

I hear all the new rave for medical non paranoia non couchlock is something like Harley Quinn, 1 to 1 ratio of THC and CBD, kinda weak though less then 10%

But if you prefer something stronger Id go for a bit higher THC, not low CBD either but like a 2:1 ratio or even 3:1 anything more unbalanced will most likely cause paranoia or anxiety

I would recommend classic Bubblegum, its 50/50 indica sativa hybrid, some of the best tasting sweet smoke ever, dont use vaporizer with this you need to taste full flavor trust me. And NO PARANOIA, perfect for going out or going to work and not trippy or speedy like other sativas like haze or dream

Funny Snooker. Just power on through it and come out the other side. Maybe. Lots of things I agree with said. I'm still working on this. Yes what works for one doesn't for another. Experiment seems the only way. The stuff today is way too fucking strong! I don't know the difference between anxiety, paranoia and depression, so I consider them all the same for me. I almost only take orally and control dosage carefully. One thing promising for me is adding very high CBD zero THC to a normal dose of another. In my case, I describe it as my paranoid thoughts didn't change, but my mind was more rational about what was happening, less racy, and therefore not paranoid. I still get emotional though sometimes. Still working on it.
