@TacoMac I am not hating on you, but being white hasn't keep me safe from racism either. I have been told I should leave stores/gas stations/cities. I have been refused service too. I have been called racist things. the way I handle it is I don't let that degrade me. always treated worst? not from this guy, also what about those with the "white guilt" they tend to bend over backwards to please a person of color.

they now call order, status quo and pragmatic..stay far away from those who seek no change.

everything about human is change and constant state of flux.

if blacks were white they'd have the same issue- differences.

i'm willing to bet the black, brown, yellow man all have a 'pecking' order just as whites.

this is as old as man and time itself.
If you were any more vapid in your thinking I would treat you like an animal. You are most definitely the white moderate that the dreamer referred to, but your ingrained modus is an obvious product of the hateful bigot.

Gonna call bullshit on that. I grew up poor. I'm white. I've been in some of the roughest places this country has to offer. Never once was I treated badly by any race. Then again, I didn't act like an asshole to them either. To me, they were and still are my brothers. We all grew up the same way.

Black lives matter is a completely racist organization. And they are disgusting haters as well.
No it isn't. It's actually the opposite of that. They want to be treated as equals. They are not espousing any sort of superiority like the KKK or the Arian nation. Like any large, splintered movement there will be bad actors in their midst, but their stated goals/grievances are not racist at all. Have you looked at their website before?

well lucky you never treated badly. I grew up low income and white too. don't assume I act like some ahole racism works both ways. I never said all or always cause those words don't work when talking about race. I am not interested in comparing who had it worst or whos been to what neighborhood. I am not saying I have it the worst, bottom line racism is a two way street and it should simply end altogether.

black lives matter, to me is about raising the standard to which blacks are treated altogether, not all blacks personally faced racism, but enough have to merit such a movement. not all white people personally faced racism but not enough have to merit a similar movement.

This is true. There is no denying it. Why do you suppose that is though?

Have asians ever formed a group in this country that shunned other races, forbid their people from breeding with other races, or killed other people because they weren't Asian? Have black people ever done that here?

Did asians or blacks take whites as slaves, force whites to eat at a separate counter, drink from a different fountain, or banned kids of other races from going to the same schools as their kids?

Did asians or blacks slaughter the indigenous people of this country, and take all of the land and resources for themselves?

For better or worse, when someone espouses "white pride", there will always be a historical context to that phrase that shines a negative light on it. That's just the way it is.

many of those things did happen of course.
Anthony Johnson a black man was among the first to have his lifetime ownership of a servant legally sanctioned by a court.. blacks and asians both had white slaves, forced them to eat separately and banned them from their schools of course.
american indians owned thousands of black slaves. The census of 1830 lists 3,775 free Negroes who owned a total of 12,760 slaves.

I dont understand why things happen. Do you believe the cries of the oppressed grandchildren might help keep the racism
machine oiled up?

I think that if everyone quit talking about race, part of the problem would be solved.

Another part would be solved if we truly treated each other as equals.

The final part would be solved if we came to terms with the history of racism and took steps not only to prevent it from ever happening again, but also to ensure both that those who are disadvantaged are made whole and everyone gets a fair shot moving forward.

These points may sound simple, but each masks a great deal of complexity and divisiveness.

I was not aware that African Americans owned white slaves here. I know some Irish were forced in to indentured servitude, but not slavery. I'll have to do some reading up on that...

Structural racism precludes the unthinking protagonist from being aware of their racism, this is why it is so insidious and makes racism extant. So tiring to deal with on a daily basis

do you believe rewriting history, tearing down statues and making new lyrics, new team names, bitching about said names and statues, or supporting the non removal of said items is paramount to healing or more fuel for the fire?

tty's answer for how to solve social injustice:

"if we stop talking about racism"

"If we will treat each other as equals

"if we take steps to prevent it from happening again"

Do you not see the logical fallacy in this? The first two steps are mutually exclusive of each other and the third a can't happen without achieving step 2.
