Sorry I don't have a tent, but... you could just scrub those walls down a bit with a wire brush and throw a quick and dirty layer of white paint over (ok may need a coat of primer to stabilize any crumbliness), and cover the floor with a tarp for starts?
Just 2c thrown into your creepy space haha
which actually does look to have potential! :bigjoint:
Temps down there are sitting at 17c with lights on and it's not too cool at the min. It will have to be a tent or boarding a room at least. I may just have to chop 40cm off my tent and duct tape it haha. I'd definitely say it has potential down there. Can't actually dispute how much healthier the goji OG looks running at cooler temps. (it's almost ready to take a cut and sex it too) here's hoping we have a female.

Cut my tent. I know it looks too short but there is still the base I gotta chop down to size. Ended up with 4x4x5ft as a space. Thats what I was given that's what I shall use. This is sitting directly beneath my sofa and can't hear a thing so far. Just thought I'd update you Don and calliandra.

Ohwow it doesn't look creepy down there at all anymore, quite cosy instead... you've ruined it! haha
But excellent it's so stealthy too!
Cheers!

I still have one creepy af side to play with don't panic. It's still strange going down rather than up to tend to them. Gonna have to cut the goji OG and get roots and flip a clone and the rest of the room the same time.

Gotta go down and set up properly today with the base of the tent and tube and fan and filters etc

Hahaha..........love it..........Cola's bespoke made to measure tents, could be a market there, LOL

I really dislike tents, but they serve their purpose when required I suppose(and that cellar definitely requires). I've had expensive ones and budget ones and the zips seem to bust after 2-3 years either way. How are you planning on re-fixing the base?
I've just recently had to fix both sides of the main zip on one of mine...............as you can see below, my sewing skills are fecking terrible and I got so pissed off with it that I just gorilla glued the other side and it seems to be holding up ok for now:bigjoint:IMG_0661.JPG

Reflective duct tape mate. I cut the sides of the zip the 50cm so it still works as a zip. The extra 50cm from the base I've used to make a new base ish. This is and always was a temporary fix until I build the ermm aviary out back. Humidity sits in the 70s no matter what I do so even if it is still to be utilised once I'm in the shed it will be solely for veg. I'm gonna run what I got for a smoke whilst I get a bit more cash together. Or should I say when I stop having to spend it on shit for the house.

It was an absolute pita to get right but it's done it. The tube in the tent has got my temps down to circa 23c now btw. Much appreciated. Goji really doesn't like it warm

Still need to tape the other side and back. (put the front of the base at the back cos it's gonna be the weakest point and saw no point stressing it unnecessarily)
Good job mate..................I'm struggling with high RH too, good de-huey's are fecking expensive though, it's on the 'list' along with new scrubber(main priority), new quieter in-line fans, UV/deep red led's, etc, etc, etc......................I need to stop paying for weed though first, shit man, I ain't used to paying for it.:? Saying that, I am currently smoking some nice 'S5 Haze' imported from the 'Dam', £50 on a Q and I think it's a clone only pheno of Super Lemon Haze. I'm not a big haze fan to be honest, I like the more alert buzz it gives ya, but never been keen on the taste. If you are a haze fan this would definitely tick all the boxesbongsmilie

Those gals are going to give you a fiiine harvest indeed :weed:
Very soon too................although it can't come soon enough....................patience is key!!!!!!!!bongsmilie

Although I have just found these snaps taken 3 days ago, the plants don't look ready to me but if you zoom in on the 'in-focus' trichomes, there's a hell of a lot of amber showing on both plants

Edit............and despite having a pink plant, I havrn't got any pink trich's, lmao:bigjoint:

Hey Don, good to see you back around here too Bro.

Those pics on IG look awesome man and have seriously made me re-consider my next run, the fact that my current seedlings look like total crap has nothing to do with it, lol.

Shame about the fat purp crosses hey? That leaf on Johndough's deepdreams is insane!!! I can't get the SSDD f2's out of my head ATM, so think I'm gonna go for one of those and a psycho lizard, no point increasing the chances of a herm when I can only grow out 2 plants.

Stay Gravy Brotha and hope to see more of you about soon

I got my new Diy veg light built last weekend. It's 8 cheap TCI strips (off ebay) mounted on an extruded aluminium frame. It's a mix of 3K & 4K 80cri and draws around 220w at the wall. It runs fine at room temperature and only gets warm to the touch, but when I tested it in the tent, it got hot enough to be uncomfortable to touch with the increase in ambient temperature. Not a major issue, I just need to sort out ventilation and air movement throughout the little cab.IMG_0849.JPG IMG_0847.JPG

Nearly finished the worm bin as well, but still unsure how to line the bottom tray. I'm torn between capillary matting and cutting a fabric pot up and fixing it over the holes somehow..........any constructive criticism is welcomed, although it's still work in progress, I would like to get some worms in there pretty soon.

Bottom tray..........

That looks really good there! :D
What dimensions is the cab?

And how did you figure out how many strips you'd need?
I was messing with DLI a few weeks ago to check on the light amounts vs. light time I was giving my plants, and the crucial piece of data needed was the LER and QER - which are seldom known?!?

Beautiful, the worms are going to love that!
Love the detail of the angled corners of the feet too!

I don't quite get your reasoning for the bottom tray though?
Is this just going to be for catching any debris that falls from above, like a runoff tray? But you'd need another under that then, with the holes you made in the bottom?
Or were you thinking of using it as a normal tray like the others?

Personally, I have found I want all my trays to have the meshing on the bottom, as I tend to move the tiers around for harvest, putting the one I need to empty on top and shining light on it, thus getting the worms still in there to move back down into the rest of the bin. So I wouldn't be using the one with the wood bottom for composting, especially not with any lining that would prevent their free movement between trays..

Cheers! :bigjoint:

I didn't think too deeply about how many strips I needed for a given area TBH and I'd imagine you'd need an accurate par meter(not cheap) to enable you to make any useful calculations regarding the DLI.................But I 'figured' that 'around' 200w of efficient white leds is enough for early veg in a small 90x90x90cm cab. I did want to use all 10 strips in there and may still do so if the ventilation I add sorts the temperatures out enough. For what it's worth, my lux meter reads 40000lm at 12" fairly consistently over an imagined canopy, reducing to 35000lm around the sides and 60000lm at 6" with a similar spread.

With regards to the worm bin, I am planning on sitting the whole bin on top of a tray, but, hoping that is a 'just in case' measure, because I don't plan on having any run off from the bins. The actual bottom tray of the bin is designed with aeration in mind and will only ever be filled with a mixture of coco and a small amount of compost, somewhere for the worms to retreat to. The top 2 trays are where I'm hoping the feeding, composting and harvesting will take place, rotating and harvesting the boxes as they fill up. I suppose it's possible that I may need another tray to allow time for the VC to mature a bit and the worms to fully emigrate before harvesting. I'll see how it goes with 2 for now and add another later if I think it's needed.

Just ordered some tiger worms to boost the current population I've already got going and I'm of out to get a bag of coco and look for some cheap trays soon. :bigjoint:

I like these not-so-far-down-the-rabbit-hole calculations. Seeing my space is 0.6 of yours, I could make do with 6 of those then.. the nice and even spread is definitely a plus for a veg cabinet, and while I will probably only be vegging single cannabis plants (for which the COBs may be more efficient because light is more focused), my veggies do get sprouted in there too in spring, and it'd be awesome for them! Keeping these in mind ;) Cheers!

Ahh cool, so it's a posh chillout zone! now that I know they'll love, having seen my worms set up one in what was designed to be the sewer, but was never needed as such lol
Absolutely, the just-in-case runoff tray is just that :blsmoke:

What a lovely icing they've got!! I suspect if it were me, I'd already have cut a few testers off haha
