Actually, I learned from @Chezus yesterday that RIU was very influential in the 2016 presidential election. In fact, there’s a few of us here that directly cost Hillary the election! Some real power broker shit going on here!
The most enthusiastic bunch of campaign volunteers and citizens I've ever seen in my political life were those working for Bernie's Primary Caucus here in Colorado last year.

That gives me hope for the future.

My wife was at the caucus, she called them "annoying".

If you and the Democratic Party doesn't start listening to the voters it will happen again in 2020, too.

I'm under no obligation to help you get your candidate elected, comrade.

Out of 96 Democrats who showed up, 80 of us voted for Bernie. If I were a Shillary supporter of call that 'annoying', too!

Elections have consequences. It turns out that rigging them does too.
That's your excuse for helping Trump get elected? Well fu.

I'll be disappointed with an America that elects Mrs Clinton. Her gender isn't history. Her policies are out of step with the mood and the needs of the country. It will reflect the ascendency of corporate interests over democracy. The fact that she's a Democrat means very little in terms of the overall political picture facing average Americans today.

Bernie good
Hillary bad
OMG STFU
What a big stinking pile of guilt trip baggage this is.

I have every right to vote my conscience.

The Chump will be elected by people who vote for him, and I will not accept any responsibility for such a turn of events just because I didn't vote for Shillary. That's not a racist or exist moniker, it's 'classist'. Because I'm sick of our classist system, where the rich get whatever they want and those who aren't see their voices eroded or ignored.

So you go right ahead and vote for 'more of the same'. I'm not doing it. And I won't feel a damn bit guilty about it, either.

But nice try!

You keep recycling old posts of mine in the vain hope that somehow they'll shame me.

They don't.

The fact is that the presidency of Mrs Clinton and that of the Chump would be far more alike than they'd be different; the ascendancy of corporate interests over those of average Americans. The continued kowtowing to every whim the Fortune 500 might dream up. The ongoing war against the rest of humanity- or at least those parts we can get away with murdering without it hitting the headlines. Much.

I'm glad you have the security blanket of, 'it's all YOUR fault!' but ultimately the blanket only insulated you from the larger reality of our failings as a nation.

I don't dislike you. It's more about pity. You have no sense of history, friend. You have no idea where we've been and thus no clue about where we are. It doesn't surprise me, therefore, that you've absolutely no idea where to go from here.
