Ive done 3 gal and 5 gal and imo go for the 5 gal or bigger. 4-6 plants with 8 tops in a 4x4. I say 5gal because i personally think to benefit most from this method, you must veg 3-4 weeks longer than usual. again thats my opinion. But because of the added veg time, you will need ample space for root growth and if your doing an 8-10 week veg cycle, a 3gal will not cut it.

Here's a look at how my four cola mainline is doing. All was going well until I went out of town for 10 days. Didn't have a problem with watering as my blumat system took care of that but I came back to an aphid and mite infestation. I took off some lower leaves and sprayed a mix of dawn ultra with water. Probably only a couple weeks left but I'm hoping to be able to save it as it is my first grow. Would welcome any other ideas on dealing with the pests.

Hey guys, hate to ask a question that may have already been asked, but 300 pages is a bit to go through with a slow laptop from '02... But obviously y'all are experienced with mainlining.
Does anyone have any experience/knowledge/tips about mainlining a plant to use as a mother? I feel like making all the separate main colas would allow me to FIM each top to produce more bud sites per cola, but instead of flipping her to 12/12, keep her under T5's in Veg and use the higher number of lateral branching sites to perpetually take clones off of her without removing too many branches/too heavy of pruning in one area of the plant at one time... any constructive input is welcome. Thank you!

Right on, that's enough for me lol. I have 2 separate strains that are genes I would like to hold on to, one looking like it's a strong male from seed and the other female from clone. If the one turns out to be male, I plan on attempting my idea on it as well, to experiment with keeping a clone stock of pollen donors... Just to preserve my personal stock of identical parent genes for projects.

The Holy Smoke Mozambique Poison was a male and I mainlined it. I cut all of the tops off and used them for clones. Passed a few out and crossed a few others.

Good. Does GDP grow short or medium? I did some research and i came across 2 different answers (short &medium).Iwas just reading shorter genetics sometimes do not work well because sometimes they do not stretch enough to make the desired large colas, in turn hurting yield.

Depends on veg time, container size and and training. My
afgooey made 14" colas.
The first pic shows the Afgooey(In the middle in 5 gallon pots) at flip. They were about 14". The second was just before harvest.
