How much LED light can a plant handle?

I ran with two viperspectras on my last grow. I don't believe it's anything greater than any other light in that price range
Heat is based on watts used, you are needing to use a whole hell of a lot more watts than necessary due to bad spectrum, and poor efficiency, you are also increasing your month electric bill by doing that as well, which will increase overhead cost per run.

You all can knock or comment about the viparspectra lights all you want. I am not here for that! If those are like 200 watts usage each that would explain a few things! I am not knocking the light I wish it did more for the claimed wattage. You should see the quality that 200 watts put out then! Do not let the picture fool you. I have a 600 watt HPS going at 100%. I can really see the difference between HID and LED. To be honest, I think I like the MH/HPS HID setup. It may cost more money to operate but I have some colas on these ak47's that could probally knock the shit out of you they are so big and bulky!

Yodaweed, I do not know what you are talking about my friend. I had the two 450's and a 300 full spectrum going in a 4x4 tent, 24x7 and it never got above 76 degrees. At least on my end, I did not have to add a fan to my system until I put my HID setup in, which is in a 8x4x8 tent. On a side note, I have a 300 watt full spectrum viparspectra that blows the 450 watt out of the water. I will start a thread on that later just so you can see what I am talking about.

I have a 440cfm exhaust fan pulling through a carbon filter. I have the boot In place in the ceiling to hookup a 6" exhaust to my return on my central air, had to do it for another tent hoping I don't need it for this one.

and yeah, as I have increased the light i have heavily increased it's watering, aswell as changed up my feeding to spread nutrients out over 3 gallons instead of 1
U doing a good job so far!! Keep it up!!

Yeah, I agree with you here. I had to dedicate 1 unit to each plant. The plant growth was slow and kind of stagnant. The mangolicious plants should have grew to about 3 ft tall. Well, they fell short of that by a foot. The plants are extremely healthy but just not big and bulky.

I need to add another 600 watt MH/HPS unit to my tent but my temps are ranging from 72-85 degrees. If I add another unit I may have to have an ac unit. On my next grow, I made a DIY, 4 site DWC system (its pretty badass if I do say so myself).

I have also been looking into building my own LED lighting systems.

Those viparspectra lights are literally some of the worst quality LEDs on the market, i don't know why you think they are good. If you are into LED's there's TONS of better options than those that use epistar and epiled diodes, they are actually less efficient than HID lights and also have a less desirable spectrum, yes they grow weed, but so does enough incandescent bulbs.

I am definately going to a different LED setup. I do not know if I am going to make my own with quantum panels or if I am going to keep wasting money on generic lights. I am not happy with the performance of my Viparspectra's, it maybe me. But I know when I setup my HID system my 2nd set of plants grew to be 3 ft tall and are fat and have heavy colas.

I did not say that I liked them. I said that I am not happy with their performance. I had to dedicate 1 viparspectra light to each plant to get it to perform. Thats not good in my book. I am going to hang them for wall lights on my hydro grow and run them on full (both switches).

Growmau5 had a video about 6 months ago on youtube where he was testing one of his fixtures and he said it was too much lt causing bleaching. She or he seems to have more than enough lights. She just has to watch the heat, water them, watch for bugs and just be patient.
Thats only if u have lights to close to canopy or too much heat., We will NEVER be able to provide as much intensity and lummen as the sun

I have 2 450 watt viparspectra reflector series. I also have a 600 watt HID running in this tent to. :) Thank you. I would not get the vipar lights though in my opinion.
for less than the price of 2 450 watt viparspectra lights you can get a 315 watt CMH which would give you more light and a much better spectrum https://www.ebay.com/itm/VIVOSUN-315w-Watt-Ceramic-Metal-Halide-CMH-CDM-Grow-Light-Fixture-Ballast-Kit/172745313101?epid=16003913997&hash=item28386c4b4d:m:mCMiwsOwt9c25LUzz1AJlCw. I don't think even a $1000 high end LED grow light can beat these

everybody knocks me for it for some reason but I'm super impressed with lighttimetunnel cobs. for the price the amount of light from it is unreal, can't see my projector on

the heat from those though...

Wow wtf that's mybad, sounds like you are hitting that plant pretty hard.

At this point, adding more light would have me checking them twice a day.
like you don't already check ur plants twice a day?

and just wait... I got another 400 actual watts going in there after work.

LOL. You only check yours twice a day? I check mine quite a few just because I like to talk to them and play with them and hold them and love them and squeeze them. I really playing but I look at mine 3-5 times a day I just love to look at them and it depends on who comes over as well.

I am the same. sitting there after after work talking to it, having a good smoke and monitoring for issues.

since I have been doin quite a bit of LST I have to check them at least twice a day just to keep the canopy under control

After a while you'll check them once every 2/3 days lol.

Just keep an eye for bleaching/saturation, good luck.
i was checking every chance i got when i started years ago. now, i sometimes don't look for a 4-5 days.

when i add something new to the environment, i will check more frequently, but if things are working well, sometimes they get along fine without me.

I have there 600 watt setup MH/HPS Light ,tent and inline fan ... I wonder if that would be better than what I have now?? Or what the difference is
