Trump/Russia v. Clinton/DNC

You are giving them too much credit. They are racists. They judge the success of Trump by the number of liberals it pisses off and the number of white supremacists he emboldens.
True. And they were racists when Obama was elected, so they don't account for the shift in voting outcomes between Obama and Clinton.

Their votes didn't change- those of another bloc did.

I don't live in any of those states, but I've personally spoken to voters who told me they voted for Obama and then Trump because they saw Clinton as unacceptably beholden to corporate influences.

It didn't make sense to me, so I asked them why they made that choice. The response was always that they were choosing their perceived best agent of change.

I'm not at all convinced that everyone who voted for Trump did so for racist reasons; that's a convenient canard offered by Democrats who don't want to admit that they have been doing a shit job of representing average Americans.

Americans have been voting for change for decades, and have been increasingly frustrated that they haven't gotten it. This partly explains the phenomenon of Trump.

In this article,
https://www.counterpunch.org/2017/08/04/dawn-of-the-dead-why-american-politics-cant-be-reformed/

I've excepted a few paragraphs that I think speak to the frustration of the typical American voter;

"Soon after he entered office Donald Trump abandoned the populist rhetoric that got him elected and began pushing programs that benefit connected plutocrats. Soon after he entered office Barack Obama abandoned the populist rhetoric that got him elected and began pushing programs that benefit connected plutocrats. Soon after he entered office Bill Clinton abandoned the populist rhetoric that got him elected and began pushing programs that benefit connected plutocrats. Astute readers may detect a pattern here."

Further down;

"The 15% (yes, the same 15%) of the country that finds the ‘Russia stole the election’ story relevant is undoubtedly the target audience for Mr. Schumer’s ‘Better Deal’ talking points. Reminder: when Democrats last held the White House and both houses of Congress they passed a Republican health insurance sales scheme while bailing out Wall Street. To wit, Hillary Clinton earned $21 million giving speeches to Wall Street after Wall Street killed the global economy. Unless national Democrats are suggesting that Russian operatives wrote Mrs. Clinton’s speeches to Wall Street, the ‘lesser’ classes appear to understand this corruption and who does, and doesn’t, benefit from it just fine."

The whole article is worth the read.

The American people want change and haven't been getting it. They're increasingly willing to vote for anyone who promises it, no matter how questionable their credibility. This, much more than 'racists!', explains why the current occupant of the White House got there.
Well, you read the last couple of lines from the article you read last week that Baldrick posted. It's pretty telling, no?

You live in a far more liberal area. There were far more racist votes for Trump than there were swing votes, especially here.

You can believe that or not.

I see it everyday. I also see an administration that promotes racism, just by the flip flopping rhetoric of the Charlottesville incident alone, not to mention all the rest of it.

The fucking guy got his political start claiming Obama wasn't born here, ffs!

And any intelligent person saw this before last November.

Intelligence has little to do with elections these days. Look at Alabama. The R overrides the 14 year old girl's story with 30 corroborating sources. Watch that guy win down there anyway.

Funny thing. When I was a kid, many people I knew were openly racist; family and friends. And I grew up in a suburban "paradise" that gave us HRC. Maybe it was because I would no longer tolerate it, but for a couple of decades those people kept a lid on it, at least around me. In a sense, i guess i thought that these people had actually grown. No longer. They are now back to wearing their racism proudly and openly. It has caused a pretty great schism in my extended family - sides have been drawn and everybody knows where everybody else stands. I guess is it a good thing we no longer celebrate the holidays together.

Or maybe it is just that the social media has made it so easy to show your support for the kind of "Niggers For Life" bullshit that some people believe in. I don't participate, and that is one of the reasons. After the initial "hey, I remember you" orgy of 'friending' people, I started to realize why I did not stay in touch in the first place. My wife still does it. This veterans day she unfriended a high school 'friend', a veteran, when he penned a missive against Antifa types, snow flakes, wing nuts and lib-tards while proudly proclaiming how he is teaching his kids how to be a "true American". You know, a true American has no tolerance for those who oppose fascism.

My own personal tendancy was to attack their degenerate views. I would rather get in their face and have them unfriend me than just meekly click a button. Sometimes I expected other mutual friends to show support in my attack, but that didn't happen. I guess it is impolite to argue on Facebook.

toke and talk too.

racism is apparently seen as a mere political issue, rather than a deep and disqualifying character flaw.
It just gets deleted there, right or wrong.

What's really frightening is that a third of the country (see Trump approval polls) are directly racist or racist enabling.

That's a lot of old white people. I do see an improvement in the youth around here. They don't repeat the racist jokes and don't laugh at them, let alone look around for minorities before they tell them. There's a lot of horrible people out there.

We eradicated that shit at work two decades ago, the company and union together. HR still has annual meetings in a group slide presentation to affirm their zero tolerance policy, and insistence to use diversity as their hiring policy.

Companies seem to be doing a far better job than government lately. Companies are zero tolerance while the president talks about, 'many sides' at Charlottesville.

From recent experience within my own family, the children of extremely conservative parents are likely to disappoint them when they reach the age of 18 (plus or minus). Perhaps it is a conceit but I think exposure to a libtard uncle and aunt's family demonstrated a viable, freer, more rational, happier alternative. Now, what the conservative wing of the family is saying is they hope their kids will realize the error of their ways when they have kids of their own.

That said, everybody, conservative and libtard hewed to the ideal that family has higher priority than religious or political orientation. We've disagreed but have been careful to leave it when we couldn't agree. I don't believe I can change my conservative brother's views but I do think that being part of my nieces and nephews lives provided them with an alternative role model to consider.

Speak for yourself.

You've posted here all night and haven't risen above the level of fourth grade insults yet, let alone actually had anything to add to the discussion.

You make Chump supporters look smart.
All night? I went to bed at 8:00 PM and awoke for the day around 3:00 AM. You are factually incorrect as usual. Do you ever get anything right?

Desperate thread grasping at false equivalency. So then a Fudgsicle and a turd on a stick are the same thing ?
In regards to collusion and political corruption, they're comparable; Trump colluded with Russia in order to help him win the general election according to the evidence, Clinton colluded with the DNC in order to help her win the Democratic primary according to the evidence

Not really seeing it myself, tiger.

You'd probably like a special council to investigate it too, huh?

Clinton colluded with the DNC in order to help her win the Democratic primary
then why did shee not win the delegates out of washington state despite completely dominating the vote and the will of the people there?

why did she get way more votes in washington state but lose 47 fucking delgates, padaraper?

some fucking collusion.

The Clinton campaign had a joint funding agreement with the DNC that gave them control over the primary process. That's defined as collusion. The DNC is supposed to remain a neutral institution until the Democratic candidate wins the election, are they not?
if they controlled the primary process then why couldn;t they get hillary the majority of the delegates in states where she was overwhelmingly the popular and democratic choice of the people?

i love how you avoid this one.
