Speed Haze with a cheap COB

I've been using cheap LED lights for a while... Started with the 90W UFO, added in the BlackStar 240, and now I use a cheap Chinese made "400 watt" COB (it draws around 160 watts). I've never been disappointed with the results - I've use a very small tent (16X16X48 ) nothing more than 3 gallon pots and I always go 12/12 from seed. these factors keep most plants short. Anyway here she is about 20 days into flower

Thanks humboldthayze420, I prefer to low stress train as opposed to topping. This one just simply didn't need to be shortened/trained and fits nicely in my space. Ill update as things move along.

I've done 3 at once in this tent, terrible idea, but that was back when this was all the space I had, and I like to have variety. Now that I have a separate HPS grow area, I prefer to utilize this space for only one plant at a time.

Looks to me like you have adequate space, much more than I do.. but if you plan to veg for a long time, that place could get crowded, but in a good way. What light(s) are you using and what wattage?

One more thing to consider Karlsefni, is what strains you run. I have an auto gigabud under 600W of HPS and its growth and size is immense compared to what I expected. It's in a 3 gallon bag of FFOF and its been on a 12/12 cycle since seed. I have LST'd this plant, one main bend in the main stalk, and tying back the branches a bit. Here she is

Nice to meet you, T. At one point I was running 4 THT subs with BFM line array front speakers, etc.

Anyways, back to the grow -- It's looking good!

Ultra loud bass? I think we would get along lol, been a hobby of mine for over a decade.

Anyways, i just wanted to ask do you actually get less stretch compared to running 16/8 for the first couple weeks? I experienced the opposite but that was with hps.

I think there are more variables than just the light cycle when it comes to stretching, strain and lineage, distance from light / intensity of light, my goal with 12/12 is simply to encourage each plant to start flowering as soon as they can in an effort to keep the entire plant small. Some strains usually sativa - example is a previous arjan's haze #3 - grow, branch, and stretch out of control. In contrast is the Goji OG X Stardawg cross (greenpoint seeds - highly recommend them) which is a stubby little runt with one main cola that seemed to never stretched a day in its life.

I hope to hear from someone who is familiar with speed haze from black skull seeds. This pheno is unlike anything in the descriptions I've seen of it so far, the smell is strong and identical to artificial grape candy, like a jolly rancher grape smell, with some spicy and fuel like undertones. The leaves are also turning purple, should not be from any sort of temperature stress so assuming this is more on the genetic side. Have not heard of any speed haze with these characteristics before, was hoping someone could confirm.
The seeds were purchased from the attitude, first time I've popped one.

Weekly update on Speed Haze,
It's turning purple... which leads me to believe seeds got mixed up by the attitiude or by the original breeder (black skull seeds). The other possibility is that this is an uncommon phenotype of Speed Haze. I am not unhappy with this plant by any means, the color is a really interesting bright purple/pink and as I stated the smell is exactly of grape candy.. strange

Wonderful healthy looking plant, an ornament on each seed pack. These full spectrum COB seems to be better than their reputation only not that efficient. Your plant definately likes it which is the main thing.
