if i see something imminent about to happen, i would step in as well.
but theres a lot more kids than i got time to keep an eye on. maybe people do rely on the government too much, but they are supposed to have people in their employ to watch for these things, to go to the places where these things are likely to occur and try to stop them from happening.
where are they?
where were the neighbors who had to know these people were too fucked up to be taking care of a kid?
where were these peoples families? they had to know that they were irresponsible little shitheads, why did they leave a child in their care?
because our whole society is so fucking broken that things like this can happen, on a daily basis, all over the country...and do i see stories about it? maybe for one day, then they fade away. but stories about justin bieber, selena gomez, and harvey weinstein.....every fucking day

I share every question you put. Where were they? Someone should have alerted the authorities. Not much delay with children cases.

But it has always been like this all over the world. Worse in many many cases.

Now we have more population and more media to know about it.

I could be wrong but i don't believe so, The baby had a heart condition that a percentage of babies and people have, it can be fatal in children, Yes the baby had ingested Marijuana, but the marijuana itself did not kill the baby such as a bunch of heroin would, it was a side effect of his body reacting to the marijuana and blood pressure rising wich caused his condition to take effect,

Baby definitely had a prior heart condition. Whats the LD on a 150lb man? Kid would have had to ingest a lot of a really strong concentrate to die.

Marijuana does cause heart rate to increase and blood pressure to drop. That combined with a pre-existing heart condition could be bad news.

If the baby had ingested the parents alcohol and died from a heart condition would the alcohol be at blame?

Even if marijuana was dangerous it would not be responsible for this death. Even if it actually caused it. Plenty of deadly substances in any house to kill an unattended baby.

Children are very curious and unaware of the dangers of every day objects. A child could choke on a carrot. At the end of the day the parents are ultimately responsible.

Its not impossible to die from THC and concentrates make the much easier for a 17lb baby to die from.
