The Koch brothers

The Mercers

The Adelsons

Between their billions and Citizens United they have more power in Washington than anyone else- including the majority of the American People.

These are the names of the enemies of our democracy. No matter what your political views might be, they don't matter. To them, American politics is for sale and they have the deepest pockets.

How much money? Between them, several hundred billion dollars.

You really think we live in a Democracy?

It has always been this way. Right from the beginning.

And your Star Trek themed peaceful world of equality can never exist.

Even you are an angry cry baby focused on money. And if you had any you sure don’t sound like a person who would distribute it evenly.

You would spend it all on a bunch of tech toys.

those 3 families already do..we're forgetting the Waltons but then that would make it 4.
These are just leading exemplars of a donor class who would rule our nation without consulting us.

Our nation was founded upon the idea of government by, for and about the People, not the money.

Call me a crybaby, but I'm quite sure free others here will appreciate what's being done to us by the buyers of our government.

And now they want to cut food stamps in an era of rising homelessness;

The Heritage Foundation is behind this one. And who's behind them? Why, out of friends and would be overlords, the Koch smokers!

With all their billions they'll never know what it's like to miss a meal, but that won't stop them from snatching food from the mouths of their hungry countrymen.

If this is what rich people do with their political power, then I think Americans are better off without them.

Perhaps. But now it's our job.

It was always our job. It’s like you say. We need a revamp of the whole voting system across the board and elimination of our court/ lawyer controlled legal system.

Unfortunately for those things they will stick to our constitution to avoid. Even if it says we the people govern ourselves.

We don’t have the money. And the people will always be confused and arbitrarily opposed to change.

And people are lazy about education. That only gets worse with modern communications technology.

So I remain part of a small community and we help each other. Feels safe here. I lost my career due to life long health issues. What more can I do? I had intended to make more of a difference with my life. I was unable to do it at a greater scale.

Do you think all your posting about it here makes a significant difference?

No and that's my point.

This isn't the first skirmish in the modern class war, only the most blatant attack.

Let's see if the infamously apathetic average citizens of this country actually decide to step up and fight back.

Freedom isn't free. It must be defended. If the average- that's 50th percentile- American citizen isn't willing to fight for it, then they don't deserve it.

Yes; I'm raising awareness.

And it's not all I'm doing.
