Hey cobkits, I saw you talking about the next Gen stuff coming out in the next 2 months. Do you know if they will be affordable? I'd like to illuminate either a 2x3 or 3x3 flower space soon.

Little offthe current topic, but I see the RIU coupon code has expired on CobKits.com. Any replacement available that I'm not aware of yet?

While I'm at it, here's a little New Year Video thrown together using all COBs, drivers, and heatsinks purchased from CobKits.com. COBs are 8xCLU048-1212, at 6500k.

im sorry cobkits for making 2.8 trillion purchases (im an impulsive buyer) and had to make up for the original impulse i luckily succumbed to. youve made one happy and long term customer
i love that you accept ltc, and with the extremely low fee, and still at a very volatile stage in its own life. its good for both of us, and i really think that THIS is what will especially make you stand out for the foreseeable future
curious if you know any other marketplaces with the same style of business layout as you do? mostly with the accepting ltc. but for horticulture supplies?
iv recently steered away from btc transactions because of the fee, so those are out of the window. and i would really rather my money go to someone like you, whom it would properly benefit

If you turn the Io adjust pot all the way up that driver can output up to 1.28A (at least that is what the meanwell test report says: http://www.meanwell.com/webapp/product/search.aspx?prod=hlg-240h-c&pdf=SExHLTI0MEgtQzEwNTAtcnB0LnBkZg==&a=2) so that may be why you see 280W at the wall?
216V * 1.28A = 276W...
But... 280W-276W = 4W... That is not 7% from 93% efficient driver.

Also another question... If I add another light on that driver (shows 280W MAX) to fully load it with V... it will be 280W or even more? Or better ask, driver shows 280W even if it's 90% full or 70% full?

If your running six gen 6 citizen 1212 cobs then the forward voltage of each would be close to 35V at 1.28A (assuming a cob case temperature of 50c - the voltage would be lower at higher temps), also the output of the driver may be less than 1.28A when the pot is turned all the way up (there will be some variation between drivers) - the only way to be sure would be to measure it.

So 280W from the wall is about what you would expect. The power input to the driver is related to the output load so it wouldn't draw 280W if it was only 70% loaded.

That's something strange... I have 220W COBs and KAW shows 280W.
Guys here write about 300-500W COBs... and KAW showing only 20-30W more.
Mine shows 60W more.
