What exactly do the large sugar leaves under the plant that do not receive much light at all?

User: Does the plant support them using precious chemical energy? Or

Producer: Do they produce chemical energy rising to flowers? Or

Reserve: Do they just store water for a water drought?

sugar leaves are the leaves with trichomes on them that stick out of buds, sun leaves are the larger leaves that grow on long stems and hang over everything blocking airflow and light.
while they do photosynthesize, they aren't as efficient as the smaller leaves. their main purpose is as storage tanks, the plant will draw nutrients from them to feed newer growth if it isn't fed enough at the right time.
