What the heck is going on with pot prices?

Not true. The only people with issues are those with quality issues. True, as of the 1’st shops/Dispensaries cannot accept anything that is not produced from a Licensed grow. However, if it is of the highest quality, the level of product that “flies off of the shelf”, the product that every shop wants/needs, then it is very easy to move.

“Outdoor”, average indoor is x2, top is x2.4-2.8. That 1k might be some of Oregon’s “overages” that have poured over, heard that was making it’s rounds around that number. No one really wants that though.
Pretty amazing for Cali indoor. I would have figured tons of supply but the demand must be incredible.

Illinois is 45 and 8th for the good stuff. Lower quality is 35. The prices of wax dropped fast, 45-50/g used to be a good price, now I know a guy who can get it for 25-35/g. The prices of bud have been dropping fast with medical starting to pick up momentum and talk of rec on the breeze.

I don't have any problems moving what I don't smoke to my friends. Which isn't much.. I never intended to get rich from it.

You’d be surprised by the amount of mids on dispensary shelves, then you’ve got multiple tiers above that. The product commanding those prices is rare (above 2 wholesale), but it’s that special kind of herb that people purchase as much as they can of (retail) because they don’t know if they’ll ever see herb that good again (that is literally what they say, every time, even though they got the same last time). That product commands ridiculous prices, but only because the shop knows that it will disappear within days, at prices above “Top Shelf”. Quik return on investment and keeps the “patients” coming back for more. You can find a McDonalds on every street corner, if you want a quality meal, you’re going to have to hunt, once you find it, customer for life. This thread prompted me to call a buddy, he said he’s been getting “bomb” OG for 16, but I know his “bomb” is mid level “mids”, demographic near that dispensary calls for “quantity over quality”. It’s “Walmart VS Whole Foods”.

I know everyone’s ego is at stake, everyone says that they “grow the bombest shit”, but not all weed is created equal. Fact.

Street up here is hovering at $100 per oz. Still tons of outdoor around so indoor growers are just competing.

The price usually goes back up after a while and through the summer but I have never seen it this low. Most don’t care about quality. They drink Bud Light with it. Lol. We are a pretty cash poor area.

I don’t sell medical weed of course but I just had mine “appraised” at $2k.

To some quality is still important. Mostly patients and the rare connisour.

Quality is important to everyone. Show mids and “amazeballs” at the same premium, you’d have to be brain dead to take mids.

Not trying to “knock” you, but there is a lightyears difference between a “2k appraisal” and dropping mass units weekly w/COD. If that 2k appraisal was legit, they would have asked you to produce that “bow” @2k. Legal, or not. Fact.

I would ask that you read between the lines in that comment. I think you misunderstood what I meant by appraisal. I put it in quotes even.

I harvest about 4 plants per month and appear to be following the guidelines below.

Patients in Michigan are not allowed to sell or possess over 2.5 oz of usable marijuana. I maintain under the twelve plant count I am allowed and never have usable marijuana or concentrates exceeding the limits.

Eh em,

And of course I absolutely never would mail packages across state lines as that constitutes a felony.

Yeah I never do that.....

I strive for the best quality from each plant I care for individually. I only have a small 2-3 Light flower room and a fluorescent veg tent.

Quality is always in demand above market value.

I am not greedy or starry eyed. I am an honest person. I lost my money career due to congenital disorders that finally took me out of the daily grind. This is all I do now except try to still enjoy my life.

I don’t think you would have any issue with the quality of my flowers.

Eh hem, I’m surprised that you neglected to recognize that I too placed the “2k appraisal” within quotations. So, as I said, there is a lightyears difference between a *single* “2k appraisal” and dropping mass units/bows (which means “a lot”, but still unable to keep up with demand) on a weekly basis (... @24-28/strain... in the flooded CA market).

“Legit”, they/shop moving it with “Godspeed” and needing more before they have even shown it.

With legal weed you have to grow twice as much and sell it for half as much. It works out the same in the end, just more work. I still think quality will sell at a premium over average smoke. There are still many people that can't tell the diff and are pretty happy smoking schwag. We are still in the transition phase of this whole shake out. It definitely sucks for the quality growers. I used to get $4k/lb in the 90's, now feel lucky getting $2k. When licensed and legal it may be possible to sell lbs for $1k.

Very large indoor grows the, cost is about 800, and another 50 for trimming. That is still a 15% margin.

UK Gov had the most backwards view on the subject even though they give a grow licence to G.W. Pharmaceuticals to grow tons of week in England to make the tincture spray Sativex while telling the citizens it's a nasty dangerous drug with zero benefits.
There will be no legalization in the UK, forget this dream and stop trying to fuck up our illegal paradise....!

the US govt is as hypocritical as fuck also. dept of health and human services (us govt) owns a patent on Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants .

all the while, the DEA has cannabis as schedule 1 with no medicinal value

Wait until monsanto figures out how to grow a 1lb bug and mold resistant nug on a single stalk. It will be a $1/lb. ;)

Only half kidding there. They will eventually find a way to gmo it so yields, potency, and flavors are high. The prices will drop, and the quality will rise.

But even wiithout that, there is still a lot of room to automate the crap out of large scale grows, and control quality through scientific means, allowing growers to concentrate on quality while dropping costs. There is a lot of profit that can be wrung out of current grows. In the end, it is still quality bud, but at a fraction of the cost to grow.

In short, buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

If you have high quality product up here, you get high quality prices and that's it, that's all she wrote. Also MMG, as stated, getting rid of a few is easy and you get the price you ask for ..... if it's good, and yup it's a good looking product, if trying to judge by pics. It's trying to get the 25+ pounds gone that can be a challenge and still get the profit that were the norms back in the day, even with fire. Prices for mids have sunk to bargain basement prices here gggdue to the huge knowledge base now that there is some great product available. The days of unloading a truck load and retiring for a year are gone for me and ended 20 years ago for the same reasons as now but on a different plain. It was brick competing against mids to fire indoor that had just started to be marketed....damn Asians lol, now it's mids competing against fire. We switched our game to a better product with a higher risk factor and were able to keep going for a while longer......then the market just exploded and I got old.....damn everyone lol. Same stratigy is required now I think, even though I am done with it, but if you have the best fire product you will easily be able to unload it here. Now keep in mind I'm talking here and no where else, mass produced fire here is still the exception and not the norm, and gone quickly. Also with the Canadian legal pricing, I'm thinking it would be a great time for the underground to make huge on the projected retail $10 per gram, that's an easy number to get under, again if it's fire. I just bought a QP for $300 only because I was curious at that price and honestly was surprised at the quality. That's my take on all this anyways, sorry for the ramble, high again lol.

The days of the small time operator (for profit) growing in the house or even a few large setups in a couple few houses are numbered. Those that habe been in the game for awhile now what Iam talking about. Its what happens when you legalize. And most smokers dont care that much about quality. Its subjective first off. And as long as it aint poop..holds a taste smell and high..they dont care. The cheapest they can get it at...thats what matters. All of our days are numbered. In 5 to 7 years only the most die hard.small operators (and fully illegal states if there is any left) will be growing for money. Ive been ranting about this for a couple years now. On a few forums. Everyone says Iam crazy. But reality says Iam right on the mark. Alot of self delusion in the cannabis growing community.

Alot of "it will never happen" and we got a long time before that bullshit. Those cats are delusional. And the "craft grown" growers. Puhhlleease. Get your head out of the sand. The "they cant grow quality on a big scale" people are really deluded. Big egos for sure. "They can never beat my buds"..."I got the best". Cmon. The ones that say shit like this still have good consistent buyers at the price the grower agrees with. These growers are slowly getting wittled out. Every one and there brother is growing. And I know about 30 to 50 great growers really well. Guess what? They all got what I consider FIRE!! The latest strains grown to high quality perfection. Just in my town. And were all beating each other up over prices. Like I said. In a few more years..only the most diehards will be left. They will all have super top shelf. And selling it for barely a profit.

You still missed it. Your ego from your cash crop is in the way. There is no single anything. And it’s worth 2 grand. This perpetual garden is going steady for its 4th year. And I have never seen quality like we try to maintain in any shop. And my friends and family in Colorado have not either. I have never even had to spray for pests in either house I have grown in (knock on wood). Our oil has all but eliminated Mrs. mmg’s internal lifelong Cysts according to her lab tests. And my friend in Colorado with a snowboarding injury is actually growing lost tissue from nerve damage back. Not supposed to happen. His doctor only expected slight gains. He was unable to play guitar anymore. He plays again now. We jammed recently when he visited. He paddled a kayak and rode a mountain bike up hills too. It had been a few years since he could do any of that. He visited to show me the results. Shame the market is focusing on cbd. It is obviously a good mix of canabanoids needed to heal. We always use multiple strains/crosses when we make coconut oil. I don’t grow cbd specific strains. I was on the search for the most balanced old school high. I have no desire to ever grow commercially for anyone. The legal pot business sucks. Great pot is grown at home with love and shared with friends and family. I wish mrs. Mmg’s recently passed father who died of multiple cancers could have tried our flowers and Oil for relief. The dispensaries even the specialized Colorado springs medical one offered no relief for the poor guy. They took a lot of his money though.

My garden has saved my life. And now my woman’s and friends. Money is only one thing I needed fixed in my life. There were more important reasons for me to garden. But it’s the only thing you are bragging about Odin.

I agree. But I have a history with Growers back to the early eighties and you were all greedy as fuck. It was way too expensive and inconsistent for quality. And then the dispensaries just continued where the black market left off. I was very dissapointed and finally learned to grow my own.

And yeah. It’s going to keep getting cheaper now while competition grows.
