Making this thread cause of all the complaining on the other thread about off topic discussions etc,Seems no one wants to see anything other than just pictures and strictly plant descriptions.I was under the impression a forum was for all to share information and learn off each other.I only joined this forum for the greenpoint thread and it seems nothing can really be discussed on that thread other than what a select few want you to discuss.
I would still like to post pictures and discussion on greenpoint gear but also if the topic changes to other educational points i dont see the point of making a new thread everytime just to have a discussion on something else.I refuse to participate in that other thread and will post all my pictures and stuff here.Anyone else who wants to share there Greenpoint stuff feel free to do so.
The purpose of this thread is not to take away from the other thread its just where i choose to share all of my greenpoint stuff without it escalating into another discussion that people get pissed off about.

I cut it yesterday,Ill take some pics tonight when i get back.The color of the dried buds are bad ass.Its like a cream colored cause of all the frost and bright orange hairs.The contrast is pretty cool.My wife and a friend smoked some i cut a week ago and said it was off the chain.#8 pheno was the best and also yielded the best so im gonna use it to reverse later on for crosses.

You still love those cobs? I'm about to build a light from rapidled parts.
Dude i got both my HPS hoods and ballast for sale.I fucking love them.They were alot of money to get set up but im telling you The growth and structure of the buds im getting is unreal.I think it has alot to with ive always had low ceilings so its been a challenge with the HPS keeping the plants cool in flower cause of all the radiant heat HPS puts out.Even air cooled with 8 inch exhaust they still put a strain on the AC
The cobs put out hardly nothing in heat but im getting light coverage all the way around the scrog unlike the HPS where the outside edges would always suffer.
Also the overall appearance is bad ass.I cannot wait to finish my building to get set up.Ill have 3 4x10's running 24 buckets per room so i can pop 2 packs at a time.

I'll post a picture of mine after I build it. Much smaller setup for me, but I have to deal with height and heat too. It just seems like the best choice all around, for my needs. I plan to expand some later on, which will be a breeze to add on to and rebuild. You got a nice system and grow some nice buds man.

There is an LED calculater that worked real well for me when deciding what to get.I watched all the growmau5 videos and really paid attention to how he was explaining Amps x F voltage = Watts.Its best to keep around 40 to 50 watts per square foot and spread them out.You can go with lower number cobs to save money but you have to drive them a little harder so more heat.

I haven't bought anything yet. Still trying to understand it all well enough before I start throwing money at it. I am leaning towards the vero29 gen7s though. Along with either the 1050 or 1400 drivers. Just need 6 lights to cover 3x3 right now.

I've been watching the videos and just about get it, lol. It's taking some time and effort to understand, but I am digging it and can't wait to start wiring some shit up. I don't mind a little heat, as I do have adequate ventilation and exhaust, plus central air.

yeah you would need at least 340 watts of cobbs to rock a 3x3.I looked at different configs and its a weird number trying to get 6 cobs to 340 watts without using 2 drivers.Let me look

You can go with the Bridgelux Vero Gen7 d series and drive 3 cobs on a 1750mA 185 driver.
The forward voltage on the Vero D is 38.7 x 1.7 amps(the 1750 amp driver) = 65 watts per cobb X 3 cobs is 190 watts per driver.so 2 drivers pushing the D veros would be around 380 watts at the wall.
the first number in the driver model numbers is the max wattage.so you could use the HLG 240 1750 B driver.You may be able to get away with the 185 but you will be pushing them hard.

the mA number in the drivers is the amps you are driving the cobs at.You always multiply your cobb forward voltage.The forward voltage of the cobb can be found on rapid led page where you look at the specs for each cob,It will tell you how many volts will turn that cob on.
The first number on the driver number is the maximum wattage.So a 240H 1050 driver is maximun 240 watts and a 1.05 Amp driver.drivers have mininum voltages to turn the cobs on also.
You can go with low voltage crees also but they cost more.

the 36V cree cx3590 you can put 6 of them on the 480H 1750 driver.36 volts X 1.7 amps is 61.2 watts per cob X 6 cobs is right at 367 watts in a 3x3 which is damn near perfect.40 watts per square foot.
1 driver 6 cobs and heat sinks and some aluminum form home depot you would be set man.
The crees are expensive but there nice cause there are alot more wiring options for awkward configurations.
If you drove those same crees at 1050 1.05 amps you would only get 288 watts total.1750 is ideal for a 3x3

Thank you, man. This helps immensely. I like your suggestions and will very likely go in that direction. 367 watts of cob would do great in my small setup, I believe.

It's starting to warm up here and I'll be upgrading to LED soon.
Does anyone run a mixed environment? I really like my 600w HPS rigs. Got two 600s with a 400w MH between them for full spectrum.
It sure would be nice to get the same amount of light for 1,000 watts or less...

I have been thinking the same

Im going to see what i can get with my one light

Then instead of adding more hps i though about just supplemental lighting from leds mabey 1 300-400w on each side of the hps

If you look at how many lumens per watt ,cobs and quantum boards put out its like 60 percent more efficient than HPS.so 650 watts of cobs is about the same as 1000 watt of HPS.i replaced 2000 watts of HPS with 1500 watts of cobs and they are putting my HPS to shame.final weights will tell all.
