How to make cannabis infused olive oil

Hi
I want to make cannabis oil based on olive oil.
I have found methods to prepare but they are all for food.
I need a medical method for a relatively high ratio. Not rso.
Thanks :)

what is your intended end use?

use a closed loop to extract cannabis oil from vegetable matter/buds
warm it up and add olive oil (infusing) , as high or low of a ratio of each as you desire.

Thanks for the quick response
Its for relief from Alzheimer's symptoms.
i warm the buds in olive oil?
a ratio of 1: 1 is good enough?

You can't make high concentration concentrates extracting with olive oil. It will saturate somewhere between about a third and a half.

You can mix a previously extracted concentrate at any ratio with olive oil, if you heat them both up above around 125F.

As far as ration for extracting with olive oil, fill the jar about 3/4 full of bud and cover with about an inch of olive oil,

Hey @Fadedawg

just wanted to clarify one point before i make some:

i used QWET to make some concentrate oil. I did not decarboxylate the weed prior to the QWET since i was planning on vaping

. If i want to infuse olive oil with the hash oil i made for ingestion(not vaping) , do i need to decarb the oil? Or will heating the hash oil and olive oil up to 125F accomplish that?

Thanks!

youtube has dozens of vids on making infused oils. Step by step.

First step is usually decarbing the cannabis if you want it to be pshychotropic, or if you want thc and cbd to be predominate (as opposed to thc-a and cbd-a).

As others have mentioned, infused olive oil will hold less tch than another type of oil like coconut oil.

But a lot of it will be trial and error, as potency of ingredients and people's tolerance are very different. You may have to experiment to find a dose that works for your purposes.

cool vid. that is super simple. might try that next run.

do you use only 2grams per 6 oz oil? how strong is that for you?
i usually use 3 grams per cup of oil, i use extra virgin...for me and my wife, that pretty strong for the both of us. I have found that different strains can bring the strength high or lower depending

i also bottle it, for a little extra reserve and let it set

try to tell people start low then move up...like 1 gram etc etc...to get what you want...

If you want it to be psychoactive, you will need to decarboxylate it.

For some reason the upload file button isn't working, so I can't show you the different curves, but for highest retained THC, I recommend 250F and watch the bubbles to tell where you are at. Takes in the neighborhood of 27 minutes.

It decarboxylates at 125F but very slowly and the same heat is breaking down the THC as it is created from THCA, and turning it into its decomposition byproducts.

is old weed already decarboxylated,
like 3 months, dark, 70-75, 40-50% RH?

No. It will decarb at room temps, but VERY slowly. To get the desired levels, you have to provide heat for a period of time. Not too much though, or you will convert the thc to cbn. Which might not be bad;cbn has a lot of benefits on its own. But you should still know where you are on the conversion curve.

how could one detect if old material is decarb'd ?

room temp dried buds-
four week old oil provides different effects than fresh oil for instance.
how long at room temperature does it take to fully decarboxylate?(thank you)

my current extract of choice is sesame seed oil based. that stuff is strong as hell - problem is the taste - very very bitter and the product is dark.....

shit gets me high af with 2 drops....

before you get into mixing your extract with oil - perfect the process of extraction so your extract is clean.

as long as the herb is BONE DRY.its said to be discarded.
Heat ONLY SPEEDS up the process is all.
If the herb has any moisture to it there will be inactive thca, as well as other inactive cannabinoids.
