Wow - THAT much ph & ppm drift overnight???

No, we’re not cutting that tube - its a whole new tube we’re installing
This is like performing a lumbar on a week old baby. I know you dont want me to bs you. Could it be done? I guess If it had to be done, BUT there is over 1 million ppl growing nowadays and i have never seen what you are wanting to do. My father taught me that most times the problem has happened and like survival of the fittest, the best technique has been adopted for such.. I want to be positive for you and I will. Do you have more seeds? In case we have to start over?

I'm slightly confused on what you are doing :/
Okay - for the WaterFarm, I need to be able to draw water samples for testing ph and ppm. The clear blue hose on the ouside of the Waterfarm won’t work because my buckets sit on the ground. Currently the only way I can take a sample or add more water is to remove the top bucket that has all the hydroton in it. Now right now this is not a problem becuase the roots have mot grown through the hydroton into the second (i.e. water) chamber. When they DO, I won’t even be able to lift the upper half off without ripping the root system to shreds.

So, what we are going to do is install a SECOND tube (like the piping column for the drip ring), but in the opposite corner of the bucket. This second tube will go theough the hydroton and JUST below into the water chamber. Then I can use a large syringe that has a small tube/line (like for the air hose and stones) and feed it theough that secondary column to draw water out of the water chamber.

Yup - got more seeds in case this tanks out!

Just my 2 cents but I’ve always had better luck watering the thing sparingly until roots develop in their new home when running cubes. I flood twice, three tops a day for the first week or so, plant seems to do better but not familiar with water farms.
Well the waterfarms do that but like anything you got to do a little hacking and diy............... You got to use rapid rooters which she did that, then you got to protect the stem... from splashing.

Wrong.... They will lift right out of the pot! Nice and easy! Plz dont dig holes in the hydroton.. I know we just met, but you might have to have some blind faith with me.. I have failed about 2 people out of 50 that I taught or helped teach.
Only God is perfect.......

Really? I’ve seen some of those root masses - they’re scary knotted messes!
yep and some roots will get the size of a carrot... I lift mine right out the bucket and set them in another bucket while I refill the grow bucket with water and nutes. Your gonna have to lift them out with your setup. You could not directly ph with a tube. You could use ph/ ec controlled water to steer it... Almost everybody recirculates dwc these days just for that reason. With that set up you wont really be able to scrog, which is fine if your veg selective training is on point and you can get about 8 to 12 tops per plant at the same height. Which isnt hard if you do it at the right place at the right time...

This is the thread that got me to switch to waterfarms... You'll find it an informative thread..

He was back in 2010. They were relatively new then too.. I to went with the waterfarms first. Well that is a lie. I bought a powergrower first and I loved it so I bought a 8 bucket recirculating with top off res. It worked great. There is some upgrades you can do to.. I drilled way more holes in the bottom. You can also hook up each bucket so that the siphon ring pulls from the previous bucket instead of its own. This increases how fast it can recirculate drastically.. The waterfarms are meant to run in sequence to really get the full potential out of them.

Ok ... so I went ahead and dumped the water and started with fresh distilled water (1ppm - sorry, countertop distiller can only do so much) ... added calmag (went up to 100ppm) ... added flora micro (up to 150ppm) ... added flora grow (up to 200ppm) ... added flora bloom (238ppm).

So, while its sitting there I remembered that distilled water should have a ph of a perfect 7.0 - yes? My ph meter is reading 6.05. No calibration solution, so what’s a gal to do?

So after you mixed your nutes it has a ph of 6.05? If so leave it.
Question real quick? Where do you have your water level set at?
