Life-saving legislation that creates new and stronger laws against alcohol- and drug-impaired driving has received final approval in the Senate. Thanks to Senator Gwen Boniface for sponsoring Bill C-46 in the Senate. #SenCA #cdnpo

Bill C-46 is one of several bills that will receive Royal Assent during a traditional ceremony with @GGJuliePayette in the Senate chamber tomorrow morning. #SenCA #cdnpoli

Funny thing is I just discovered I am good to go. My car died in Dec and I could not stomach the thought of dropping 5,000 on a 15 year old car. That was to get it road worthy, i need more, like rust clean up and paint job. Suffice to say I am chomping at the big to have transportation so I do not have to really on others to do my errands, pickups etc..

Well I started looking at scooters since a lot of disabled found seem to get out well with them. Now this is cool:
NO drivers license is required
NO insurance it required
NO helmet is required

Basically you are bound by the same rules as a wheelchair and you are considered a PEDESTRIAN.

I simply cannot see how this could result in charges of impaired driving. Obviously this presents some limitations of speed (35km is the max allowed), time and distance as well. Great if you just need to pop out to the store that is only a few Km's away though. Should be interesting. :eyesmoke::mrgreen:

that's for 49 cc and smaller scooters. those are ok to get around a small town with, i wouldn't want to try navigating a major city on anything under a 150, you'll get run down.
you need a motorcycle license for anything 50cc and over. and insurance, and a helmet. actually, you need a helmet for a 49 here, if you take it on a public road.

Oops, sorry Roger, I was not specific enough. I am talking about the electric scooters that look like a wheelchair with a third wheel attached to a steering mechanism. It is a medical assist device for disabled people.

ah. you should look into reprogramming the governor. i worked at a place that made GEM cars, we reprogrammed the one we used as a garbage pickup vehicle around the plant, it would lay a patch of rubber ten feet long.....i think you need one of these units here...amazing-wheelchair-1.jpeg

Over here if you get a learners license you can ride 128cc but not on the highways. It is valid for 2 years... many people just do the learners over and over. I bet it is hard smoking a doob on a bike.

I was thinking more like one of the two wheel motorcycle versions. Same deal - 48v electric, 35 km/hr. I had one when I lost my license after a seizure. Worked great for around town, going to work, etc.

Here it is 6 am and my back hurts so bad from a hospital bed that death would be a blessing
I would drive the fuck away from here in a single heart beat
Supposing I was high as a kite
Be it scooter or army tank
Holy blessed fuck
No kidding eh? When my wife had full knee replacement surgery they put her in an air bed the day of surgery. After surgery she was put in a regular bed. She bitched and moaned incessantly until the found another air bed for her and switched beds.
