Seattle Minimum Wage not working out...

it doesn't seem like anyone saying is saying they have a fleet of the trucks on the road.
they have 3 maybe, and they've never once said they were hybrid vehicles. i couldn't find any reference to the trucks not being 100% electric...all three (maybe).
also don't recall anyone extolling the business model tesla has decided to pursue.....the truck itself is a good idea...there are over a dozen companies retrofitting existing city vehicles, and developing new electric semis.
so....is the problem with electric vehicles in general? or tesla in particular? did a tesla tease you on the playground when you were in school? did one run over your dog? did a tesla ever touch you inappropriately? ........?
It's that people suck his dick like he's God that gets on my nerves. Never once has the man met a deadline. In fact, he's been beaten to the punch by just about everybody.

Their prototype truck used a Volvo hybrid engine for development. They do have a small motor in the truck, but it only goes about 50 miles. That's it. He's promising 500 miles WITH PAYLOAD and he has absolutely no fucking clue how to do it.

Meanwhile, Cummins has already beat him. Their truck is ready to go in a couple of months with a 100 mile range with payload, something Tesla still can't do.

But do continue singing his praises about how he's the 2nd coming of Christ and nobody but he can do anything.

Meanwhile, yet another deadline was missed, yet another projecting fell short, yet another year fell flat.

well, i do agree with you about Musk....he's a pretty flaky guy. but...compared to a lot of other wealthy people, he's not so bad. seems like most wealthy people's first concern is becoming wealthier. he's not a saint, but he gave 6 million dollars to the Sierra club, anonymously, and only said anything about it when the press bashed him for not being bill gates. he seems to be a big dreamer...with any luck he'll catch one of those dreams and share it around...at worst...he's still better than half the other rich assholes out there.

Tesla's car division may stay viable as a small marque but the Japanese are way ahead in regard to production numbers and sheer experience, let alone a large established dealer network.

Electric trucks...lol..100 miles with a payload? I'm betting that's a small payload to due to the reasons stated by the truck driver earlier. Look that may suite a very, very small % of truck buyers but because of that the re sale would be horrid.

Those Tesla trucks are cool and probably going to be useful for short LTL loads. I do wonder how they will handle a major metro area...at rush hour? I'd like to see those Tesla trucks do an alley dock manuever on a crowded dock, I'm not saying they couldn't, I just think it would be neat to watch.

There's always ALWAYS going to be those asshole car drivers that pull out in front of semi trucks, don't understand how to merge into traffic on the highway and those idiots that get by n front of semi trucks to drive 10mph under the speed limit (I deal with all of this every day). I wonder how the Tesla trucks will adapt and handle it though?

Tesla’s achievements in 2018 likely represent the biggest single-year growth in the history of the automotive industry. They started the year with a delivery run rate of about 120,000 vehicles per year and ended it at more than 350,000 vehicles per year – an increase of almost 3X. As a result, they're starting to make a tangible impact on accelerating the world to sustainable energy. Additionally, 2018 was the first time in decades that an American car – the Model 3 – was the best-selling premium vehicle in the U.S. for the full year, with U.S. sales of Model 3 roughly double those of the runner up.

What Cumming is building are the electric semis that will distribute into the inner cities. They're only designed to go from the warehouse to the final destination because they realized long ago that a 500 mile range electric semi doesn't solve the long haul problem and has no real use.

Tesla is breaking ground on Gigafactory3 in Shanghai China....
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigafactory_3
No, they are not. Completely and totally false.

All they have is a contract that allows them the to build the factory and a plot of land that was graded for them. They were supposed to break ground on it two years ago but have failed at every opportunity to do so. They are scheduled to have a "ground breaking ceremony" at some point (not yet even scheduled) in the later half of this year.

This is the kind of blatant, wanton bullshit I'm talking about. You post complete, total, utter lies and help perpetuate the problem. You're worse than fucking Trump.

come on...he's worse than trump for liking tesla?......trump lies every time he opens his mouth, commits treason, cheats on his wives with porn stars, then pays to cover it up, steals money from the charity he set up, separates immigrant families from their children at the border,
shuts down the government till they all agree to play his game.....and that's just what occurred to me as i was typing this....
so keep a little perspective, you being annoyed at someone doesn't mean they're the same as trump, much less worse than he is

So does he when it comes to Tesla.

volvo driver:

Someone who is so bad at driving that they want a car that is perceived overly safe. They drive slowly in the fast lane, they cut into traffic causing other drivers to swerve and brake violently to avoid a collision.
A particularly vile incarnation are those young urban failures that cruise along reading the paper, playing with the radio or yakkingincessantly on their cell phones.
Oblivious Volvo drivers often wave cheerily at the frustrated honks of others as they park, change lanes or slam on brakes for no apparent reason.
The connotation that if it's a Volvo, it's gonna get in your way and negatively impact your safety is so strong that the company is actively working to dispel the stigma associated with their cars.

i didn't even know he had a brother....have to see whats up with him....
The two of them (Mostly Kimbal) made a company they sold years ago. That's how they got their initial money. Elon used his to start SpaceX and buy into Tesla. Kimbal took his, went to culinary school, then got out and created his own chain of restaurants and is working on making farms that are self sufficient and come in shipping containers.

It's really quite something.

The latest development for Tesla’s China plant comes after the Shanghai government this month said on a social media account (link in Chinese) Tesla could start manufacturing in the second half of 2019, as the carmaker began soliciting bids related to building its Gigafactory 3. The $2 billion project will be the carmaker’s first overseas factory, and will make Model 3 and Model Y cars for the China market, Reuters reported. At least one contractor has started buying material for the construction work, the news outlet said, citing unnamed sources. The firm expects the factory, for which it’s acquired 200 acres, to have an annual capacity of 250,000 vehicles......

INSIDE TESLA’S SECRET, INTENSE FOCUS ON BATTERIES
Yes, Big Auto is producing excellent EVs, some of which are in Tesla’s league, but they’ll never build more than they have to, and they’ll continue steering customers to their gas-guzzling, high-margin models. It’s what they do.

The US Advanced Battery Consortium (USABC), an industry group led by GM, Ford and Chrysler, has been working since 2013 to accelerate the development of EV battery technology. However, as Andrew Thomas points out in a recent Medium article, “Tesla’s battery is cheaper, higher capacity, more reliable, and more available than anything produced by USABC.”.....

Of cause they will only build as many as they have to. Why build more than you can sell?

Which is why I said pages ago they should stick to building battery packs.
