UV Suppliment Lighting

Yes, besides having the perfect UVA peak, the price is what I noticed as well. They have UVBs that start at 305nm, but that is sadly missing the 285nm and since they are used to treat psoriasis, they are around $100...

Anybody tried the Philips Actinic BL TL? Was thinking of running them with two solacure?
I wondered what are you using for and also is any other light going with it?
I figured this must be for veg perhaps?
I have the solacure "super B" bulbs vers flower power and wanted to mention you can run them longer and they actually have a fair bit of blue in them.
I also have a HLG UVA light and like it although it lost a string of diodes HLG is replacing it so will be running it again soon. With those two to me that is all the UVA-B you need plus fair bit of 400-420nm blue.

The Solacure bulbs have UVB and UVA and already have 2x more A than B. No need to add even more UVA! Even if UVA hits the cryptochromes, has signaling effects and change terpene profiles it has only a little effect on photosynthesis. Pretty sure the Solacure bulbs create much more UVA like such an actinic psoriasis bulb. Do not over due it! The Solacure bulbs have only a few percent visible blue light and are already 5-10x stronger like a reptile bulb. It's already so much that you can use them only for a few hours per day without causing a damage. It's really not needed to use more.

Yes, I mainly liked the price and the ability to go higher with the UVA. I like the idea of being able to adjust the UVA to UVB ratio and keeping them separate for better control which allows experimentation.

I just discovered, that I can't get the Solacure in South Africa, so I will have to find alternatives. Any 285nm LEDs or other bulbs out there? Arcadia are also not available. Frustration is setting in. Getting UV lights here seems to be a turd gone sideways.

Cutter are advertising a 280nm LG diode on their web but i dont think its for sale yet.

280nm is a bit scary. Searching on alibaba for 285nm LEDs, they will pop up... trusting them is the big issue. We pay around 30% customs+vat, so having samples sent from different suppliers would dry me out quick.

Im not sure but you might get away with no tax if you class them as comercial samples and declare 0$ value. But also means youre insured for 0$.

Alibaba would be the last place to look for uvb diodes imo. And the flourescents mentioned in this thread seems to have longer life and better output.

Thanks, but fluoros, besides Exoterra are not available in this country. But the sample thing I'm aware of. Just a little problem, if I order 32 units or so... Customs are sticklers in this country.

We have awfull customs here aswell. I find it helps a lot using a shipping agent that deals directly with customs and you just pay. Seems that customs care less when you dhl/ups it.

Samples: if your supplier is onboard with saying its comercial samples they might be happy to make it out as 32 diffeeent flourescents, each a different line to sample. I dunno just brainstorming...

Added some UV to tent #1, its a 2x4' tent with all 3k strips and some 24w reptisun uvb 10.0 HO's at 12" high over the canopy.

Its second day now of running uvb @ about an hour every 3 hours on 18/6. Seeing what looks like slight sunburn like a leathery texture....so they're working!
maybe I should cut back a bit.

These slurricane mums are about 4 weeks in veg

I'd sure like to have all led uvb strips for even better coverage for my other tent. Does anybody offer a complete uvb/uva strip yet?

these fixtures are very low profile ! and the reflectors are super nice ...quiet with no heat / and way over priced, But theres not much else out there. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AKKUBDQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Nice setup you have.
No UVA-B strip I know of,
but been wrong before.

There are 285nm diodes, but also haven't found a strip and I have looked for several hours day for the last week.
Also for now it makes no sense in getting the strips as they would be more expensive than the bulbs and you'd have to switch them out every 6 months.

Has anybody checked out the specs on that thing? Would be nice to have one with a 2x2ft beam so you could exactly research every single strain on its particular requirements re light.

It has a 6"so area. It's not practical at all. and Fucking huge. Pretty sure that things at least 4' talk.
