Temps were at like 25 but i discovered algae late as i was not used to this and about 3 days later my plant hated life and was brown. Im really new with waterfarms but I really like the idea of them and im determined to make it work. What is your grow temps like? How cold is cold in your personal opinion? You right about the winter, I will use that to my advantage. Thank you for your help and advice i appreciate it.
Just stick some pythoff in there mate will kill everything

Hey can any passersbys tell me if you require a chiller for your rez? Or if you use one? Ive heard mixed reviews on it but i did get root rot last time. What do you think and what do you use??
Hi Windtalker, I've been growing with a power grower for 10 years, I also followed scotty's PE grow at the time and still grow the same way. One of the ways I keep my Rez temps down, is I keep the air pump out of the grow space. I use a long hose, about 6 foot long and run the hose into the cab, that way the air it pumps into the res is cooler then the air in the cab helping to keep the water temp down. My Rez stays between 20-23c.

Botanicare hydroguard helps too, 5 ml per bucket.

Subbed, Looking forward to watching your grow.

Nice man!! How has your experience been with the power grower? Root rot or algae ever? Look at my first post. It shows SCOTTYBALLS new and improved design he did away with the airpump in the end. BUT i did wonder if this would help if i just put an airstone into my rez and pumped cold air into it. I think this combined with H202 is what im kind of thinking. Appreciate the advice.

Love the power grower, I still run it just like Scotty from that PE grow. I've had 3 bad grows, 1 mold, 1 root rot and 1 hermie. But those were all because of mistakes I made, and learned from. I've had 11 colossally successful grows in that time, never yielding less then 10 oz dry with my biggest single plant harvest at just over 20 oz. my first grow was PE at the same time Scotty was posting and following his lead that plant gave 14 oz dry. You never forget your first ❤

My biggest single bit of advice is monitor it daily, pH, temps, ec and roots, and be aggressively proactive when you spot a problem. Little things become big things fast in hydro. I flush with hydroguard and clearex for a few days 2-3 times a grow during flower, that helps keep the root zone clean and minimize the salt build up. I also use roots excelurator and hydroguard with every feeding veg to final flush. Root zone is where 90% of my problems come from so you gotta stay on it, and if you do the rewards are phenomenal.

I'm subbed and excited to see how this turns out.

Your welcome . I never check my temps in the Rez. It was never an issue for me. I don’t get the tent hotter then 85 degrees Celsius. I prefer to keep the tent temps in the 70 degrees Celsius ranges. I never did ever check water temps or ph in the past grows I have done. I use GH Flora Nova Bloom and it has ph buffers in it and they works very well.

looked for hydrogaurd today apparently they dont sell it in Canada anymore. How is it that we legalized weed and get rid of all the good hydroponics stuff??? Wtf!?! Lol anyway i did find clearex so when get some time off i will go down and get some for sure. So i guess it h202 for me. Im excited for this grow as well im excited to hear a fellow waterfarmer has had success I was so close to giving up!!! As for roots my local has voodoo juice have any experience with it?

Lol 85 degrees celsiuso_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O:fire::fire::fire: lmao i know you mean farenheit haha but yes 70 is around what i will try to keep it at. Maybe i should pick up flora nova and save the silly emerald harvest line for later.......im thinking I should get the waterfarm part down first lol. Ph buffers would be beneficial at this stage and keeping it simple is the name of the game for now.....

I grow in these pots dont use the third pot to sit on just a brick like amber.

I use to use waterfarms to but i like this system better as my res sits on outdide of tent easy to get to.

Pretty sweet system is that main pot full of hydroton? It uses a lot no?? I like the huge drip ring and the fact you can keep the rez outside...if something happens maybe i will explore this option. Nevertheless sweet set up!!

Lol, ha ha! I’m sorry for the confusion. What was I thinking? Your 25 degrees threw me off. I had to go to google it. Thanks for having a sense of humor:lol: !I remember my ppm meter has a built in temp reader, so I will try to look at it more often. I did get a ph meter recently for my last soil grow so though I might start taking readings now for fun. :)Keep it simple is the name of the game!K.I.S.S.

27 litres mate yeah fill it up full of hydroton
My feeder ring made for the setup so not much hydroton is exposed to light.

Ppm.......the guy at the hydro store told me to stay away from this meter..he said you will just end up being worried all the time chasing ppm. I think he doesnt know what hes talking about I have done a ton of research correct me if im wrong. Water goes down, ppm goes down, you can up the nutes a bit. Water goes down, ppm the same, do nothing with nutes. I never used to grow with a ppm and had great success but maybe i should try it? I want to be precise in this... also when you say 200ppm for example, that means up and above your initial water ppm right? So lets say for fun my water is 50 ppm out of the tap, i add 200 ppm from that of nutes? Hope this makes sense....

Seedling seems happy but not much change i think its establishing roots. Tomorrow or the next i will change out water and introduce nutrients. I have a bucket on bubble for 24hrs like usual. Grow room window opened just a bit more im trying to find the perfect balance. When i can get to the hydro store im going to buy a long air hose and pump cold air into the system via airstone. I have a fairly powerful pump i upgraded from the shitty GH pump that comes with the power grower. Peaked under the tinfoil all looks well. Hurry up!!! Lol.

Bummer you can't find it locally, you can find it on eBay and Amazon. It serves a similar purpose as h202 but without killing the beneficial bacteria in your res. Clearex is AWSOME for breaking up and flushing salts out of your system, a must in a wf.

I'm psyched for your grow

I like the ideal of a recirculating system with the res outside of my cab. unfortunately my cab is only 20 inches deep or I might try that set up. Love the size of the pot, your root system must be enormous when your done. What kind of yield do you usually get?

I just bought a new air pump, my trusty old gh 400 gph finally died, so I went with a vivosun 332 gph so far so good, those gh aquarium pumps that come with the eco growers are only good for keeping your add back res bubbling, they are way to under powered to run the Eco.
