Harvest started today. I am going branch by branch, ripest getting trimmed first.

Possible snow in the forecast Friday. Mother nature has forced my hand. Based on pistil appearance, calyx appearance and multiple scope views, I have entered the early stages of the harvest window. By the time any snow comes in 4 days, ripeness will only improve.

A tad bit early still but if you feel you have to... I wish you luck
The forecast just keeps getting worse. Snow and two night below freezing are very possible by Saturday. I am trimming branch by branch, picking the ripe flowers first. By Friday, I will have given all colas and some larger secondary branches another week.

Below freezing forecast is always going to make me move.

I promise below freezing wont hurt them. I was having 25 degree nights for several nights in a row at the end of Oct and still kept them going with zero damage. But I understand your concern. You did a great job this yr... I would def look for shorter flowering strains for next yr if I was you tho ;)

When the trics are like that will it get stronger in potency if it goes longer? I’ve been trying to understand how THC potency develops.

It's more about ratio of trichs, and I like to be around 40% amber. The branches I pulled yesterday were at about 25% amber. So I was probably about a week early, but the high will still be what I like for daytime.

The colas and buds still on my trees will only get more amber, and I figure by this weekend it will be where I want it.

I’m hoping for near lethal potency so I’m trying to figure this out. Mine keep throwing white pistils which I’ve heard can be normal. I’m going to look again today.

Alright, I have finished chopping branches for the time being. Basically, I am checking trichs as I go, along with pistils, and believe I have harvested all that is ready to be done at this point. I am going to give the rest time to mature a little more, trich-wise.

@ganga gurl420 I am hoping by going branch by branch, clipping only those that test ready, that I can optimize my time while allowing colas and other large bud sites to age another week or so. Thanks for looking out!

You going to ride the weather? I’ve been reading on how durable Can plants are. I’m starting to wonder if these sativas aren’t going to 2020 and I’ll just chop when I replant. Stay warm up there bro.
