Curing is overrated

All it is is slowing down the drying right? If too dry add an orange peel, too wet add a brown paper towel. 2-3 months curing yeah right.., doesn’t change potency. Maybe some of you have cashed lungs and you think it’s a smoother hit. Personally I don’t think so. Some have said big growers with excessive supply simply market this curing thing as an excuse to get top dollar months after harvest. This is due to excessive supply. But meanwhile you are destroying the bud.
As far as potency, it doesnt change much after its dry. I find that the best smells and flavors come out after about a month. Properly dried and cured weed stores for YEARS without any significant degrading. Curing is done after drying, which you probably fuck up as well. Weed is best cured/stored with Boveda 2 way 62% humidity packs. Plenty of information out there on drying and curing. My buds smell and taste amazing while others who dont know how to dry/cure smell and taste like hay.

Really it is. Just stop already. Stop cutting the soup too thin.

this is like having a French guy with long hair wave his hands around to sell expensive art.

please show me evidence that curing adds to potency? One week cure is fine. What do you think it’s doing when it’s drying?

mid the trichomes are foggy when you cut, one week dry/cure is all you need.
Please show me evidence of a single grow you’ve completed

Curing is awesome but its by no way a deal breaker such as some describe, well dried bud is just as good it need not cure.

Honestly though this site makes drying hard work and touts the cure as everything till every newer grower respews it out like its the be all and end all.

Worse is all the jar at this humidity dont overdry keep it slightly moist hopla that some cling too hard to like its make or break.

Everythings taken out of context and over worked hyped and tinkered with because everyones looking for their angle or some upper gold seal of standard.

Nah man its not rocket science. Store with a 62% boveda pack and open occasionally the first month or two.

Yer i dont need that stuff and get better results from experience.

You seem to suggest i dont or dont know just because i prefer not to use boveda and such other methods by the way your trying to school me in your own personal way.

No im just saying that curing is not nearly as complicated as some make it out to be. Yes there are those who have timers set to remind them to burp every 9 hours and 53 minutes. Those people are idiots.

Yer no i come across argumentative so appologies.

I agree its a simple thing but not much leads you down the simple path and has everyone questioning what exactly is happening.

I welcome some more open investigative threads to post on rather than this type of discussion though and more of a site agreement over this stuff especially since a lot have been doing it for years now.

Its all good no apologies needed. People get set in their ways and think if others arent doing it just like them they are doing it wrong. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

I've experienced both scenarios actually.... I've harvested and dried stuff (I slow hang dry in 50% ish RH @74F) That tasted AMAZING, blew my mind because I believe in a cure process normally. And then I've had stuff that tasted like burnt rubber until it cured for 3 weeks...then it was sticky gas!
I think you should cure until people like it, or your own preferences. It's not a categorical thing you can load up a paint brush with. Cure is necessitated by many different variables including strain, ripeness of flwr, flush, density, resin, wet/dryness, Temps and RH, growing style ie organic, soiless, nutes, senescence.....
Important things happen in a cure where enzymes breakdown sugars, minerals, chlorophyll and salts leftover from what the plant left in the leaves that are unwanted in a quality smoke, every true connoisseur and lover knows this... The difference between clean white ash and black ash and what it means about what your possibly putting in your lungs and body.

Well some cure and some like the OP don't, why cause he prob just in it for a quick $$ turn around I would suspect. The reason why I still have 7 month cured bud from last year is simple, it's way smoother therefore more of my meds per toke. Which in turn increases the medical benifts that my conditions require. It's All personal preference people. Some peeps grow for $ some like me grow way better product because my body, not greed tells me too..
